Yes. You can get Netflix for free. At least for the fist month. They offer a one month free trial and then you can cancel anytime after that.
Here is my two cents analysis of Netflix. Should you sign up to get Netflix for Free for the first month?
What are the Pros?
It is a pretty low cost after the first month. You only pay $7.99 a month after your first month of free trial. You can watch anytime you want in the convenience of your home. Years ago Blockbuster was the main kid on the block. I was surprised the last time I went to Blockbuster how empty it was. I spend most of my time outside of the US so I had not been to blockbuster for quite a while.
Netflix introduced years ago the revolutionary concept (at the time) of sending the video to you rather than waiting for the customer to come to the store. Another concept that was new at the time was the idea that you can keep it for as long as you want and then when you are ready you send it in for the next dvd you want to watch. I have paid more than once a late fee at either the public library (for overdue dvds) or at Blockbuster.
Netflix took this concept of bringing the movie to your home one step further. Bringing it through "online streaming." That is, with the proper internet connection you can watch the movie instantly. I remember when this was offered years ago and I could not take advantage of it because if my memory serves me right they only had it available for PCs (I am a mac user). Well things have improved and changed now.
You can watch it on a PC, a Mac or through your gaming device (ie Nintendo Wii) directly onto your TV.
You can also watch it through a Roku Streaming Player. This is a device that is around sixty dollars, plays high definition video, has built-in Wi-Fi, sets up in a few minutes and has a 30 day money back guarantee.
There are no late fees or due dates. You can cancel subscription any time.
So as you can see it is not a bad deal to try Netflix for free if you haven't already.
What are the Cons? Well, not many but here are a couple:
For those of you who are not in the US, this is not available. Last time I used it (a few months ago) the movies don't have subtitles. My wife is Argentine and though she understands a lot. She can follow a lot better if it has subtitles. So, can you get Netflix for Free? For the first month you can and after that you can decide if it is the best option for your budget. If you would like know more about how to watch movies on your computer, check out my web page here.
I love netflix, I have a customer for 5 years. I hope it is around for a long time!
