Sex And the City, Carrie Bradshaw And Her Famous Men

HBO's Sex and the City was one of my favorite shows. I loved the weekly adventures of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). The viewers got to journey along through the ups and downs of the girls adventures in Manhattan and their quest to find love. Carrie is the all American girl, with her career but longing for a special someone in her life. Samantha is the tough, bed hopping woman who scorns love. Charlotte is the fairy tale dreamer, looking for Prince Charming. Miranda is the career woman, who is skeptical of men and love.

Carrie didn't have as many men through the series as her friends, but she usually got the cream of the crop. She has dated and loved some fine fellas played by some very famous actors. From Timothy Olyphant to Chris Noth, Carrie has enjoyed some handsome partners. So let's meet the men in Carrie Bradshaw's life.

Big (Christopher Noth) Mr. Big is the man Carrie can't forget. Big is the one man she wants to commit to her and he is the one man that just can't seem to take that step. Fate throws them together time after time only to end in disappointment for Carrie over and over. Big finds various ways to escape his feelings for Carrie. He moved to Paris, he married another woman and he eventually moved to California. He always had a wall to put between himself and Ms. Bradshaw.

Aidan (John Corbett) Aidan is probably the second biggest love in Carrie's life. He was everything Big was not. He was an earthy guy who worked with his hands. He treated Carrie with respect and affection. He loved to do things for Carrie like refinish her floors. He was eager to have a lasting relationship and he proposed marriage. Although Carrie accepted his proposal, her heart just wasn't in marriage to Aidan. She became Aidan's Big. She broke his heart only to entice him back and break his heart a second time.

Aleksandr Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov) Petrovsky was a famous Russian artist who Carrie met at an art exhibit. The two embark on a passionate affair. Their relationship is very unconventional. When he asks her to move to Paris with him, Carrie says yes. She feels living in Paris with her older lover is a dream come true. When Big shows up the night before she leaves, she finally refuses to let him back into her life. When Paris turns out not to be the dream she imagined, Big reenters her life once again.

Jeremy (David Duchovny) Duchovny played Carrie's old high school boyfriend. He turns up out of the blue to woo Carrie once again. He reveals he has entered a retreat to deal with his problems. So they have a bittersweet parting as he returns to the retreat.

Sam (Timothy Olyphant) Olyphant appears in Valley of the Twenty Somethings. Carrie meets Sam through a friend of Samantha. He is in his twenties. Sam has a particular talent for kissing. He and Carrie spend a great deal of time kissing. Finally she goes home with Sam and spends the night. The next morning as she is using his bathroom, she discovers there is not toilet paper. When Sam explains that he used the last of it for a coffee filter and begans to tell her about his unicorn dream, Carrie realizes she does not belong in the valley of the twenty somethings.

Carrie had other men during the six seasons of Sex and City on HBO but these were my favorites. I have to hand it to Ms. Bradshaw, she has good taste in men.
