This article will tell you all you need to know about the Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar, so you can make an informed decision before you buy one.
It comes packed with usual features such as the classic Fender body shape which is double cut away with a bolt on solid maple neck. You have the classic Fender headstock, covered machine heads, a rosewood finger board with, what Fender call, dotted inlays on it.
If we go down and take a look at the electronics, the tremolo and all the other stuff on the front of the body.
The tremolo, again, is a classic part of the Fender Strat, the strings load in through the back of the guitar, and it has individual height adjustments, at the bridge so you can actually fine tune it and adjust the height of the strings instead of having to with the truss rod inside.
If you start with a clean sound, you can get a kind of surf 1960's rock an roll sound and, if you put some overdrive into the signal, you get a more dirty rock sound.
If you put the toggle to position 2, you get a 1970's sound like Robbie Robertson's from "The Band."
If you toggle to the middle pick up, you get a sound that is halfway between the two like a clean rhythm type timbre. When you put some overdrive on this, you get a great sound for doing some lead guitar.
In position four, you can also have the signal clean or put some overdrive on it. When it is clean, you still get the chunky sound, but when you put some overdrive on it, you find a classic blues sound emanates from your amp.
In position 5, which just uses the neck pick up, so you get a pretty mellow sound coming from the maple. When you add a little bit of overdrive to this signal, it becomes a classic rock guitar.
What is great about the Fender Standard Stratocaster is the versatility, it is very easy to play and it is good for a lot of different styles of music.
The tremolo system was designed for subtle tremolo work, not for aggressive tremolo playing, so, if you are into aggressive tremolo work, dive bombing and such, this may not be the tremolo for you. Also, the Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar tends to have a very bright sound in certain modes, but, overall, it is a great instrument for a beginner and pro alike.
Also, it is extremely affordable and is a true classic.
