What follows is a review of the Fender Standard Telecaster.
The Fender Standard Telecaster electric guitar is the oldest solid body guitar in the world, with the design itself being over 60 years old.
There are no restrictions, acoustically, with solid body guitars which is why you see so many of them in weird and wonderful shapes and sizes. Near enough every style of up to date music has been played on a solid body guitar. The Fender is synonymous with the formation of rock and roll and then some.
This Fender has been developed over the years by the main man himself, Leo Fender, with the Standard Telecaster being made in Mexico and allows guitarists to have the famous Fender styling, tone and the more importantly, the Fender quality if you are on a tight budget.
The main parts of the original design have been kept such as the alder body, maple neck and fretboard and the twenty one frets. The Telecaster sports two single coil pick ups which are controlled by a toggle which has three positions. There is a master volume and master tone knobs for the pick ups. The neck is the normal Fender scale being 25.5 inches with the fretboard being made from maple. The scaling of 25.5 inches means that the strings are in a higher tension and so produce more treble. It is a more difficult guitar to play due to the tension in the strings so a lot of people put a lighter gauge string on.
The Fender Standard Telecaster has been brought up to date with the addition of a finer finished neck which combats the stickiness associated with Fenders in the past so you can play up and down the fretboard with consummate ease. The bridge has also been improved. The fret wire has also been looked into so that you can really dig into your pitch bends and the body cavity now has a shield on it to combat the 60 Hz hum that was characteristic of single coil pick ups.
You can get the Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar in many different styles and they even put the strings on for you properly before they send it to you. They also send a gig bag with the instrument so that you are ready to go on the road and play live as soon as you receive it.
You do not need to look any further for quality and flexibility than the Fender Standard Telecaster.
