When you take the Line 6 Spider IV guitar amp from the box, you will notice just how light it is. This doesn't mean that it is light on features but just means that you can take it on the road with no hassle at all.
The Line 6 Spider comes with professional connections including a 1/4 inch jack output so you can use it with an external cab and headphone output for practicing at home. You can also use the balanced jack output for recording or for playing live if you connect it to the PA. There is also a connection for a CD player or MP3 player so you can play along with your own music.
You can use the Spider as a normal amplifier, having control over the usual parameters for your own sound or you can use the modeling knob to give you a start for playing some well known genres and add your own take on blues or whatever you want. There are also presets which allow you to copy famous artists sounds from the 1950's to present day.
Using a foot controller, you can access the tap and loop function which has 14 seconds of looping for playing with synchronisation of effects with your tempo.
The Line 6 Spider IV is an excellent all round amplifier whether you play in a covers band or are a sessions musician as the tones can be found really quickly so you won't have people waiting on you. Guitar tutors will also be able to get a lot out of this amp as guitar students want to be playing music they are interested in and sounding like their idols. The best feature of this amp is, probably, the massive amount of different tones you can generate from the modeling and effects combos. All musicians can get a lot from the Line 6 Spider IV amplifier including those that play live as the self contained unit has all of the capabilities without having to find loads of plug sockets and splitters etc. If you are playing live, you really want to buy a foot controller to go with the amp as you do not want to be walking over to the amp after each song to make changes. The foot controller will just allow you to access your presets quickly and easily. For the price, this is an excellent addition for the beginner and seasoned musician alike.
