Jay Z Net Worth 2012

Rap artist today are knowing more and more about the business. For example artist/businessman Jay Z is very successful. In 2012 he was estimated to be worth $475 million. Wow! I'm pretty sure all of it didn't come from the music industry but one thing to keep in mind is, the music industry opened up a lot of doors to do other things. I was told making music is only 10 percent of the business. The other 90 is pure work. When you think of the word work you think of doing things that you don't want to do. Well if you get used to doing the things that aren't so fun and considered work, then the faster you can climb the ladder to success.

Just like Jay Z, it's good to start your music campaign local. The more people feel you in your home town the more chances you have of being felt outside of your city. I know you heard of the phrase, if you can make it here, then you can make it anywhere, that fits perfect in this case. If you can't create a buzz in your own backyard then how are you going to create a buzz anywhere else?

Practice Makes Perfect

This is the reason some will never rise above average because they fail to practice until they are literally comfortable with their act. How do you think Jay Z got to where he is now musically, not by lacking and being lazy. The music business is very fast paced, in order to keep up you have to have stamina, long lasting abilities in the studio, performing, and networking. Which brings me to my next subject.

Three Things You Must Have

1. The "It" Factor

This is number 1 to me because if you don't have SOMETHING special about you that attracts people to your campaign then you won't get far. Some are born with special talents, but even they have to practice very hard to become great. I think the one who wasn't blessed with natural talents or privileges should work twice as hard. You can practice yourself into having that "It" factor.

2. Presentaion

People can sense when someone isn't on their A game. You don't want to let your ego take over and get you thinking everybody will love everything you do or say. That is not reality. You have to have your act together. When I say act I mean, image, delivery, and presentation. Not having presentation can result in you looking rookie, or not "It". Make people want to learn more about you. Give them a story to follow, and when you are in the spot light be you x 10.

3. Hard Work Ethic

No matter how good you are, if you don't work hard at your craft and presentation you won't grow. Independent artist like myself work hard everyday to reach success. Hard work will put you ahead of most of the pack. Do the things most are too lazy to do and you will stand out no matter what.
