It's Black Friday, so you know what that means: time to bust out the piggy banks and let the floor have it. All on behalf of the family and friends, of course. Or yourself, as the case may be.
One of the best gifts you could pick up for yourself or a loved one this holiday season is a music album. With new artists like Phillip Phillips and veterans like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj cranking out the goods, there's something of a selection brewing up for 2012. However, if you are looking for the absolute hottest on the market right now, it's hard to overlook one of the greatest pop artists of this generation's latest release:
Kelly Clarkson Greatest Hits: Chapter One
Remember her? The girl that won American Idol like last year or something? With the really captivating smile? Yeah, that's Kelly Clarkson.
In just over a decade, Clarkson's nailed dozens of smash hits to her name, and now she's compiled an album featuring her greatest ones. It's a musical snapshot of her incredible success that should not be missed.
Greatest Hits: Chapter One features Kelly Clarkson's bestselling tracks, such as "Since U Been Gone", "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)", "Walk Away", and everyone's favorite, the song she sang in her winning performance for American Idol: "A Moment Like This".
Here's my favorites from the tracklist for Greatest Hits: Chapter One:
- Since U Been Gone
- Miss Independent
- Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)
- Mr. Know It All
- Walk Away
- Catch My Breath
- People Like Us
- A Moment Like This
- I'll Be Home For Christimas
...And that's only the half of it.
It's an impressive list of hits -- and again, an impressively long one for a "first chapter" -- but if you've already got all of Clarkson's albums in your possession and need some incentive to add another one to the list, you'll be pleased to know Greatest Hits features two new tracks exclusive to this album that should not be missed: "Catch My Breath" and "People Like Us".
The album's already made it to the Amazon bestseller's list, and reviews are calling it "a great snapshot of the first decade of a talented pop artist's career." It's currently on sale for a very-nearly-illegal five bucks. As with pretty much all of her other albums, the virtual shelves are on fire for Kelly Clarkson's Greatest Hits, one of the best holiday releases this year.
