You Are Three Cords Away From Becoming A Music Superstar

An American statesman and a four-star general in the United States Army Colin Powell once rejected: “A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” Every person usually dreams the best pictures about their future. Unfortunately we are not able to make the pictures real just waiting for these days though. Sometimes it is difficult to find the edge between the habitual life of an ordinary musician and a professional career of a superstar. A dreamer may eventually become a superstar even without knowing it.

There are three cords away form becoming a real success. They are not your big, powerful and influential brothers. They are sweat, determination and hard work.

Sweat. Starting something new you should keep much strain. The process of establishment takes much time. You are making the base of your future. It is the major period in your development as a musician. It is difficult and sometimes impossible to change something that has been laid for years. It is possible to improve something but the quality has to be good enough to deserve to be improved.

Determination. You are an amateur musician who strives to get more. If something you have already achieved is not enough any more, you are to do your best to get more. You will get something more complicated, more valuable, more distinguished and refined. You are to try harder. You are to be ready to meet difficulties. You are to comprehend that sometimes you will have to risk everything – your experience, career, knowledge, property and reputation. Nobody is safe from failure. Even if you have already undergone the procedure of meeting important people in business, carrying negotiations, arranging a performance you will face new troubles and hazards. You will conduct the same activity but each time it will be a new experience. That is why here is a problem with Plan B. Many fresh musicians feel safe if they protect everything they have gained for years of hard, even if it is just an amateur work, somehow. There are different ways of their protection. Some people claim that the best variant is to have any occupation which is not connected with music at all. While others are sure that it is great to combine your ambitions to become a professional with any activity which will inspire and favour the development of your career. Step by step you promote your career. It usually takes much time though. However, there is the third group of musicians who state that it is absolutely impossible to develop yourself and your career if have nothing to risk. Any creative person should keep the drive moving him ahead. That is why it is odd to invent a Plan B.

Hard work. It goes without any doubt that your future is completely dependent upon the choices you make today. If you choose hard work you may be sure that it will keep your energy streaming and keep you going ahead.

What does a good musician do? Writing and performing music? Not always, especially at the stage of launching his career. He embodies all those people who build the musical industry just in one person, in himself. That means that from the very beginning of your career you should not only be a good musician, you should be perfect in everything. Just think about the time available and double your duties and responsibilities. The result is – hard work. The effect is – success.
