Choosing Pro Tools For Your Home Recording Studio

You can make your home studio how however you would like but there are certain ways to go about setting up. You don't want your speakers right by your microphone, or you don't want your computer in an unsafe area. Don't get frustrated trying to guess where things go, if you don't have professional assistance then there is no problem with using the internet to answer tuff questions or get you threw a set up.

When I first got started with my home studio I went out and bought Pro Tools software. Most likely you know what Pro Tools is so I won't go into what it is and what is does (If not just do a google search). There's more audio recording software out there that works just as good but Pro Tools is the most used. This makes it easier to interact with different engineers, artist, or producers with music and send files threw email because you have the same program as them.

I bought Pro Tools LE 8 from Guitar Center. It costed around $400 brand new. I had some bad experience using free Pro Tools downloads that my friends use to let me have so I decided to get the real thing. It was easy to install. Some people get stuck at this point, installing Pro Tools to your computer can be frustrating if you don't have the right computer.

Make sure you have a good running computer system before anything. It has to have at least 2GB of memory and preferably an Intel processor. Get yourself an external hard drive to save all of your files to, this saves space on your computer which makes it last longer. If your computer isn't brand new, then before installing Pro Tools I would suggest doing a clean up on your computer to be safe.

After cleaning your computer and making sure it is virus free, then you should update it's default programs so that it's running the latest versions. Running older versions can slow your computer up or make it more vulnerable to viruses.

Now your ready to install. Follow all instructions very closely. Once your done installing, then your off to creating and composing audio. There's literally no limit to the things you can do with your sound. Take the time to learn your new software, the more you know, the better it will work for you. Pro Tools is the way to go.
