There probably isn't anyone in America who hasn't heard of Taylor Swift. The sensational 22 year old performer was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on Dec, 13th, 1989. Her powerful voice and showing of character has taken the hearts of a massive following by storm.
The young performer's journey into stardom has been as steady and nonchalant as someone might walk to the corner store. Guess you just can't manufacture talent like that. Or keep it down.
She has gone from nobody to the 69th most profitable recording artist in 2009 with earnings of $18 million, then the 12th most profitable in 2010, with earnings of over $45 million, and she keeps on going.
Her tour came in fifth on Billboard's annual, "Top 25 Tours" at the end of 2011. The Speak Now World Tour has grossed over $100 million in only 89 shows! The tour is heading back out into the world scene this March when she plays shows in Australia and New Zealand from the 2nd to the 18th.
Then back to North America for the final show of the Speak Now World Tour in Ottawa, Ontario on August 11th. As role models for young women go she is one of the best. Here are some Taylor Swift Quotes that allude to wisdom beyond her years.
"No matter what happens in life... be good to people."
"You have to believe... love stories... prince charmings... happily ever after... that's why I write"
"It's hard to fight... when the fight ain't fair."
"Life isn't... how to survive the storm... it's... how to dance in the rain"
"People haven't always been there for me... but music always has."
"There's more to life... than dating the boy on the football team."
"I think love is... FEARLESS."
"I’m intimidated... by the fear... of being average."
"Your lucky enough to be different... never change."
"...no matter what love throws at you... you have to believe in it."
"I never want to change... so much that... people can't recognize me."
"You're beautiful...
Every little piece, love...
Don't you know... you're really gonna be someone..."
What a charming and eloquent young lady. Music is almost like a voice whispering in your ear and can affect a persons worldview both consciously and subconsciously. Knowing our children have positive role models is very important. If I had a daughter I would certainly contribute to Taylor's success by buying my daughter tickets to one of her shows. Her music, acting and outspoken positivity are definitely refreshing in our often too cynical pop culture world.
