Blogging is a one way conversation between you and your readers. If you wish to be successful in affiliate marketing or any other form of internet business, blogging is essential to your business.
Blogging is easy. There are plenty of free sites that will host your blog. Blogging establishes you as an expert in the area in which you are selling. Experts draw in followers who check back regularly with you. This allows you multiple opportunities to sell and up sell your products.
But blogging is not just about selling. If you fill your blog with advertisements, few people will stop by more than once. Your blogs must contain useful information. There should not be more than one or two links on your blog to products you are promoting. Would you buy a newspaper or magazine if all it contained was advertisements? If you would think that is stupid, why would you think that people would follow a blog full of ads?
You must become an expert in your field. An expert is anyone who knows something about a product than does someone else. You need to do your research. Don't steal other people's research. Don't copy Wikipedia word for word and expect anyone to trust you. You need to take your research and craft it into the product that you have a passion about.
People found your blog because they are interested in the topic of your blog. Don't use a blog title that has nothing to do with your blog. Write about the subject of your blog. Be fresh, don't recycle your own material. Plan ahead.
You can spend just a few hours a week on your blog and still provide new and interesting material.
Know your product. Be able to tell your readers why you believe in your product as the one to buy and use. If you are not able to explain what you are selling, why would anyone trust you and buy it.
Blogging is a conversation, not a Shakespearean play. Use the same words you would use if you were talking with a friend. Readers do not want to have to consult a dictionary when reading your blog. That is too much work and removes the joy of reading about new things.
Be confidant in your blog. You are offering information and your personal opinion about the topic. If you don't trust yourself, who else will? Your next step is to get out there and start blogging. Good luck and happy blogging.
