Ho boy !! - One can certainly say - Ho, Ho, Home Based Business.
I am so very fortunate, and do not take it for granted for one minute.
It is as times like this, when it is so very cold, that I am extremely excited to be working from home.
I awake in the morning, have a lovely hot, comforting bath, with my cup of hot coffee. I put on my triple track suit and into the office , I go.
I get to work that extra two hours, that many spend on the road , to and from work per day. I have no distractions and fire away on all cylinders. The big bonus is, that I heat up my office and chat away to myself if I want to, as no one is listening.
I can start when it suits me and also finish at a suitable time. Believe it or not, sometimes I even end up working from my bed. If I am not really feeling too well, I take my computer to bed and work from under the duvet, between sleeps.
Of course, one always wonder about working by yourself from home. Loneliness? Tea breaks? Lunch breaks? Locking up office and walking away. I do enjoy my own company and am always able to head off to see someone during the day, if I so wish. I am very strict about my tea/coffee/lunch breaks. In fact, I put the kettle right next to my desk. It is then a constant reminder to, put on the kettle. The worst part for me is, the locking up and walking away from my office. So, my way to correct that is, NO matter what time I get into bed, I set my alarm for 8 hrs sleep.
So, if say for example, like this morning. I only left my office at 3-00am, I then set my alarm for 11-00 am. I do usually awake sooner but that is the general way that I manage to work and sleep in the most balanced way, suitable to me.
A huge plus as well is, if I have a business meeting on Thursday and run out of time, to complete a project. I can always make up time over my weekends. Of course, working from home, does not suit everyone. There are many people that work better with others and their team. Some find it more motivating ! Then there is the other side of the coin where, you may have you staff interrupt you at times.
Self discipline is a huge factor here, as one could be tempted to rather read, watch television or sometimes just not even get out of bed on very cold days.
For me, personally, it suits me perfectly ! I have worked for myself for fifteen years and from home now for four years.
I would not swap it for anything else.
You are use happy with what you do Ronnie. Glad to see that!
Oh it all sounds ideal! I love your idea of setting the alarm for 8 hours. If work and kids didn't call I know both my husband and I would work further into the night and sleep longer in the mornings. It's a dream for the future (like next week during school holidays! lol)
You seem to be very happy with what you're doing Ronnie and I admire anyone who can... one thing for certain is if you're alone " You can't be lonely, if you like the person you're alone with....
Thank you Rob, I am , very much so. I am always at my happiest when helpings others. Yes, - I do really enjoy that quote - "you can't be lonely if you like the person that you are with". Another one of my all time favorite quotes is, "It nice to be important but it's more important to be nice". Thank you Rob. My apologies for no picture with my article, I had difficulties loading one.
I do believe you are enjoying what you are doing Ronnie...:)
