Why do some people seem to take to network marketing, like ducks to water and other seem to just barely tread water before they give up? I have a seen a ton of network marketing opportunities and I’ve seen some talented people not succeed at some of the networking opportunities out there. So it’s not just the person, there are other factors at work that greatly affect success or failure.
What follows are seven network marketing success tips that should greatly increase the odds of success in any network marketing operation.
1. The company backing the product must be solid and stable. How long has the company been around? Is it listed with the Better Business Bureau as “A+”. This is the foundation of your business. It better be solid or problems will likely hit latter.
2. The product must be something people can’t live without! This is so important. The product must be common and understood as a tool needed in today’s modern society. Be cautious with highly niched network marketing product opportunities. Niche means small, which means most people will not have heard about what a great product you have.
3. The timing must be perfect. At present, the economy is lousy and there’s no sign is going to get better any time soon. Most people are looking to save money, not buy luxury products. Simply put, your product must be something people can’t live without and will help them save money in this rough economy.
4. Your message about what your product is must be simple, everyone must "get it" immediately. This is important because it takes the pressure off you and the buyer. It becomes a no brainer.
5. You are not tasked with buying any inventory or any monthly dues. This is important because one of the prime reasons people drop out of network marketing programs is due to negative cash flow. Simply put, they have more money going out than coming in. Some network marketing companies put a real premium on you buying their training tapes & videos and/or you have to buy product (drinks, vitamins, you name it) and stock inventory. Avoid this.
6. The compensation plan must be generous and guaranteed even for the newbie. You should have the opportunity to make money early and often. Lower tiers must be realistically attainable hurdles that everyone that gives an honest effort will attain. Mid level and upper tiers should also be not so high that only a few can hit it. They too must be attainable to all that stick with it.
7. It's critical that you pace yourself throughout this process. Being consistent with your daily or weekly time commitment and setting realistic goals are both key ingredients to your long term success.
If all of the above are in place then it comes down to you and how consistent you are with your efforts. Simply put, consistent efforts will over time equal impressive results. network marketing can be a wonderfully enriching and lucrative enterprise. However, as outlined above having the essential ingredients present are key. Any one of the above missing will lead to a lower probability of success.
Lastly, on the right, near the top of this article you will see the a picture of a man surfing a large wave. I selected this image because it's symbolic of network marketing done correctly. Like the wave, when everything is in synch, network marketing can be very powerful and self perpetuating.
