Online Marketing - The First Steps

How to make money online? This is probably one of the most asked question these days. The answer to this question is really very simple. I'd say the biggest part of making it simple is, research. Research is key to solving the simple problems in this industry. Sometimes all it takes is the ability to decipher facts from lies.

A little research goes a long way to avoid this.

I know I said a little research. But, don't be lazy. You need to spend time doing this. It is quit literally the front line of any marketing strategy. Start by doing some simple keyword searches. Then maybe got to some forums to read and post a some questions. That is only a small part of it. But its a start.

Probably the next most important thing is. Take advantage of any type of free marketing or free traffic you can get. Of course this takes time but if your like me you've got more time than money. haha It doesn't cost anything to setup a blog page in places like blogger or word press. So why not use it? Unless you already have website in which case your ahead of the game.

Another way is writing articles. This is something I didn't really understand until recently. Articles are a great way to get some really good traffic. You need to be an active writer though. I was not very active when I started out. I thought a blog post every few days along with an article or two a week was perfect. I had underestimated the power of people looking for information.

Social networking sites might be the easiest way to accomplish a little bit of advertising. Now, I don't mean to go spam twitter with your new hoplink from click bank. All thats gonna do is get your reputation severely bruised. But, I'm sure most of you are already on face book or similar sites. So its easier to tap into your warm market a little. Just talk with your friends and tell them what you've been up to. Try to update your status as much as you can. When I first started blogging I just shared the posts on face book. Sooner or later word spreads.

The last thing I wanna tell you is..... emailing is vital. No matter how big or small your list is. I don't care if its only five people. Be sure to contact and follow up.

I could write for days about this. But, I just wanted to give the new marketers some information. Even if its basic information. I know I sure needed it when I started. I hope I shined a little light for the new guys.
