What, in fact, IS success ?
Most would probably believe it to be, financially well off, living in a huge up market home, driving the latest Ferrari. Many are there and many are successful.
However, it has become obvious, in recent years that, success means different things to different people.
Success is, the end product of which one desires. As in, financial, stress free, not working in an office enviroment, having a job and so the list can go on.
We were once led to believe that, the harder you studied at school or college the more successful you will become. As one grows older, it is very apparent that, sometimes being at the right place at the right time, helps. Or, knowing the right people. Mostly, having the courage to leap out and try what it is that your heart desires most.
Being able to self motivate, being self taught, are all valuable asserts in the future of your life to succeed. Not being afraid of failure. In fact, as the saying goes, those who have failed the most are those that have tried the most.
Once being in a high powered position in life, it is a constant drive to stay there. This, of course takes, stamina, determination and a large amount of stress. It becomes an adrenalin rush. Almost addictive !
So, learning the technique of networking becomes a valuable tool. The correct networking system cannot fail either. Many powerful, in fact, practically all the powerful people in the successful status have learnt the technique of networking and it's non fail benefits.
The discipline involved with working from home, has to remain enforced at all times. One has to learn the habits of, taking breaks, for tea time, lunch time. Evening and weekend breaks. Which, to me, is not easy. Then to tackle tasks and complete them, without receiving a tap of the shoulder of congratulations. You are on your own. The only way that you will find out whether in fact you do deserve a gold star, is once your work is out there and being recognized. Only then, do you feel the satisfaction of accomplishment.
The benefits to a home based business is, not having to get into the traffic every morning and every evening. Which, then allows you, extra time at work. Also, petrol costs and reduction in wear and tear on your vehicle. I try to still do the presentable look, even though at times I am not likely to see anyone. One can also save on the make up. Again though, not to allow yourself to let go and not look after your appearance.
One can never tell as to whether the, off to the office work schedule is better or not than the , home based schedule. As everyone's needs differ. Some people need the interaction with others. Or, the motivation from a higher rank.
I have worked on my own for over four years now. It suits me perfectly ! I do question at times though, am I putting in too much time in the office and not taking enough time out? This is where it is important to time yourself per day.
I recently found out that I was pushing 15 - 18 hours a day. Which, I believe, is not good ! However, I was not aware of this, until I timed myself. So, to find the balance, is very important !
IM is addictive, and a good thing too because so much time is needed to create a good product in order to reap the benefits. Were it not an interesting occupation, with wonderful virtual coworkers, it would be so much more difficult to remain motivated to achieve goals.
Ronnie, these days the Internet is the only way out for a lot of people, you know in this country unemployment is rife, the older are being pushed out and replaced by younger inexperienced personal. Those that worked hard at school and in their early careers have now been rewarded with nothing but a "get out of here" attitude. The pensions offered years back that seemed an early retirement was possible, are not, money invested, no big returns. The loans we had to make years ago to get a business going killed the profits as 28% interest rates applicable made sure of that, yet if you had then invested did you receive this type return, no. The life of the older generation is now an up hill battle and the internet and 15 to 18 hour days are the norm, the difference is those grew up when one had to work those hours to get ahead in your chosen career, so they are now used to it.
