How Did Gaddafi Die?

It is very easy to go on youtube right now and see right infront of you the video of the ex Libya leader Mummar Gaddfi body laying naked on the floor. After 42 years of ruling his country and robbing it of all it's wealth and demeaning it's finally over and a lot of people have sighed in relief. The quesiton remians though of how did Gaddafi Die? what is exactly happened? The is what I want to take a look at today.

He Was Alive When Captured

Reports say that he was indeed captured first, but did sustain many injuries. The injuries he got were from a NATO strike targetting his convoy in the city of Sirte. It is said that he was hiding in some kind of pipe where he was later dragged out by NTC fighters. It is said that he sustained the injuries to his feet and was later on shot. There are two vidoes currently circulating around the internet showing the two and I suspect there might be more. It was also said that he was being transported to a hospital before he died.

He Died After Being Shot

Reports also now confirm that it was the rebels who shot and killed him after the strike that resulted in his death. There is footage showing him right before he was shot and appears to be alive but with massive trauma to his face. The second video shows him all cleaned up but he is clearly dead in that video and the crows surround him immensly.

What Happens Now

The current leader of the National Transitional Council has announced that there will be declarations of a new Libya and celebrations tomorrow. It is expceted to be nationa wide celebrations in this matter. It is said that the fighting still continues though and that the battle is not coompletely over yet, but with Gaddafi dead his forces are expected to weaken and weaken.

In the end, another dictator has been killed and now 3 Arab Regimes have fallen to their people. The question that we can now ask ourselves is who is next? I suspect that we will be turning to either Syria or Yemen now to see the development of their events. So how did Gaddafi die? He died with no dignity and will be remembered as a blood thirsty dictator that destroyed his nationa and people for his personal profits, gain and interest.

Unfortunate but I do not understand why a dictating king would be treated like that. Publicized shameful death after attempting to finally surrender, and a known terrorist like Bin Laden would get a respected no show of the body, death and burial. I don't get get!

I agree with you in many senses, I don't believe in the political support from other countries with these actions as our democratic policies say that everyone should get a fair trial. I however do agree with the support that people and the rebels that were fed up after years of their own people being killed, enough reason to rebel in my opinion.

Being from Iraq personally, trying Saddam Hussien at the time did nothing but create a mockery of the whole system and boil people's blood. People like him and Gaddafi killed thousands and imprisoned them without trial and were tortured mercilessly in the process. In my opinion they don't deserve a shred of humanity.

I agree, but Peter since you were in the belly of the beast, Iraq, I'm getting different views and responses from Libyians who say Moammar did implement this in the country: Libya & QADDAFI ...FACTS THAT CANT BE DENIED 1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens. 2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law. 3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent. 4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family. 5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%. 6. Should Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free. 7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance. 8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price. 9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter. 10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally. 11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found. 12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens. 13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US $5 ,000 14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15 15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree 16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country. Is there any merit to these claims?
