Osama Bin Laden Did Continue Missions Up to the Time Of This Death

As the US continues to sift through the information gathered in the deadly raid on the Pakistani compound where Osama biin Laden was finally found and killed, news of continued efforts to cause destruction to the US has surfaced. In addition to the handwritten journals found in the same room as the terrorist leader, there was evidence found that indicates that not only was Bin Laden sending out messages to his followers but receiving replies as well. That compound is now being referred to as the al Qaeda command and control center and the journal could well turn out to be more than just the musings of an aging man, after all.

That journal, writen in bin Laden’s handwriting, includes information about suggested attacks on the United States as well as allied countries and includes a number of mentions of details such as planning attacks on railroads, cities that are to be targeted and the key dates of the US calendar, including the Fourth of July, Christmas and of course, the upcoming tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Both New York City and Washington, DC are specifically mentioned in the journal as key cities for any future attacks.

The US had already issued warnings about the possibility of railroad vulnerabilities and steps are being taken to increase their security, but now that the information from this journal has been released, further steps may be taken.

In related news, al Qaeda affiliates are calling on additional attacks to be planned and carried out, not only against the US but against any country that would ally itself to it. Those attack threats are asked in name of jihad and in tribute to Osama bin Laden, to show continued loyalty and support for their fallen leader. On a number of al Qaeda message boards, the threats have ranged from veiled to very blatant but no real, organized threats have been noted as yet. Some of the messages did ask that further work on developing weapons of mass destruction be resurrected. The demand to create nerve gas and others was repeated more than a few times during these messages.

Meanwhile, the fate of the women and children who had been left behind after that attack still remains unsure. It is rumored that the young, Yemeni woman who was bin Laden’s last wife as well as their young daughter will be returned to Yemen but that remains unconfirmed by both Pakistani and Yemeni officials at this time. When asked why the US did not capture the women and the older children for interrogation, it was explained that the mission was only to capture or kill Osama bin Laden, gather whatever physical evidence and information was there and then get out as quickly as possible. Muslim experts explain that such a move would have been pointless on behalf of the Navy seals anyway as bin Laden would not have shared any kind of information with women or children.
