Nature's Medicines is an interesting book to health supplements.While it is a lengthy book, you will give you some knowledge on vitamins and minerals and herbs. It explains how supplements may benefit and how to take them, what food sources a certain something is from and cautions.
Some words are strange, indeed, some seem quite common. Strange as in astragalus. From the pea family. Fascinating. To me, Cayenne is a familiar word. Cayenne pepper treats asthma, fever, soar throats among a few other symptoms.Ginger, another familiar, will turn your stomach right, plus it helps in muscole soreness.
And how about that pineapple? Soothes the soreness in muscles. I resorted to eating pineapple since tablets and creams for sore backs weren't doing too much when I read the pineapple could be a healing agent. It worked for me and I wish I had learned that long before so I could quit hurting sooner.
The book also touches on some major diseases too, such as breast cancer, diabetes and multiple sclerosis. It is useful information to know, otherwise these knowledgeable people(Prevention) wouldn't put them in the book.There is a chapter on fingernails, short but informative. The fingernails are a source in telling of good health or not or what your body is in need of. And the book is honest is saying hair loss is most likely inherited. However, stress plays a part and there are suggestions to regain strength on your head.
If you ever have a chance to go through this book, there is an index in the back for easy reference to any health symptom you may want to dwell on. It doesn't have to be a book for reading from front to back. The index is helpful to find information for whatever ails you at the time. This is a great book to have in your book shelf for future reference. Learn about nature's fighters against the cold and flu and beat those two to the ground and stay healthy. Learn your vitamins and the goods they have. Fine out what is good for that too much of loving the sun, sunburn. This book has answers to many symptoms.
The author Gale Maleskey put together an informative book about nature's own medicines along with the editors of Prevention Health Books. She has an impressive resume on her website. Her knowledge can be trusted.
