5 Worst Morning Foods – Not for Breakfast Anymore

The most important meal of your day is breakfast. That is what everyone says. However, you need to eat the right foods in the morning to make breakfast your most important meal. If you eat the wrong foods, you will gain weight and you will cause your blood sugar levels to spike and then crash. To make your breakfast meal your most important meal of your day, here are 5 of the worst morning foods that you should never eat.

Don’t you just love those great big muffins that they sell in the coffee stores? I especially like the blueberry ones with the crumbs on the top. But, did know that this is one of the worst foods that you could eat in the morning? Why? These muffins are over 600 calories a piece. All you are eating is white or wheat flour and sugar. If you keep eating these in the morning, you will gain weight and eventually have a blood sugar problem.

How about a nice bowl of cereal? Did you know that most cereals are over 50% sugar? Actually, the cereal is just as bad or worse than the big muffin. If you eat cereal everyday, your blood sugar will be constantly going up and down and you will always be sleepy mid morning.

Bagels should be good to eat in the morning, right? Wrong! One of those bagels is like eating 4 slices of bread. Eating these will also send your blood sugar on a roller coaster ride.

How about the all-time favorite breakfast meal of pancakes? These certainly have to be ok to eat in the morning, right? No! Pancakes are just flour , milk, eggs and butter mixed up. Pancakes are nothing but carbs and that will cause your sugar levels to spike and then crash. They could even contain trans fats and eating these on a continual basis could give you a disease. And, what about the syrup that you put on the pancakes – sugar, sugar and more sugar!

What about having another all-time favorite – a doughnut! This is not good either. All you are eating is fried sugar topped with more sugar. You would be better off to not eat anything at all. Just go hungry.

Now that you’ve learned that your favorites for breakfast are the worst morning foods you could eat, just what can you eat that won’t kill you? Well, you can eat eggs which are an excellent source of protein. And, don’t worry about eggs giving you cholesterol. They won’t. You can also eat Kefir which is a yogurt-type beverage made from fermented milk. Kefir has enzymes and beneficial bacteria that helps with your digestion and your immune system. Or, how about spreading some natural peanut butter on an apple?

Loved the way you wrote this article....form the bad to the good...apple dipped in Nutella sounds good to me..it satisfies you fruit and hazelnut-butter (protein) requirement and the cocoa makes it taste fun....haha....anyway I eat eggs for breakfast or my raw meal replacement with all the vitamins and supplement in it including probiotics....sometimes I even have both....I just had to quit my cereal anyway cause it had gluten in it...second ingredient in a rice cereal ...who knew??? more reading for me....great article thanks..

We are all programed from childhood to like starches for breakfast, such as pancakes, or bagels, or a Danish pastry. I used to eat a Danish every morning. Now, I have a small omelette and a salad. Much better and good too. Enjoyed reading this article.
