7 Ways That ACV Can Improve Your Life

For hundreds, or even thousands, of years Apple Cider Videgar (ACV) has been revered as a powerful tonic and cure. Some people think so highly of ACV that they call it 'Nature's Perfect Food'.

ACV is made from the fermented juice (cider) of crushed, mature apples that have been allowed to turn to vinegar. The resulting liquid is rich in potassium and also contains malic, citric and lactic acids.

ACV is a natural 'folk' remedy and so there is very little scientific research to back up the claims made by it's supporters. However, people who have used it report positive effects, and that's understatement.

Acne - ACV can be used to relieve many skin conditions, including acne, sunburn, bites and burns. Gently pat the affected area with a soft cloth or tissue dipped in a solution of 25% ACV to 75% water. Do this 3 or 4 times a day as necessary. A 50:50 solution of ACV and water spritzed on the hair and left for an hour before washing helps fight the fungus that causes dandruff. You can also add a capful of ACV to your shampoo or conditioner.

Arthritis - ACV breaks down calcium deposits that collect in the joints and relieves the joint pain. Sip a glass of warm water (the honey dissolves more easily in warm water) containing 1 tablespoon of ACV with 1 spoonful of honey 3 times a day. Also, add 3 or 4 tablespoons of ACV to your drinking water bottle and sip from it throughout the day.

Diabetes - A study published in Diabetes Care showed that patients with type 2 diabetes had improved blood sugar levels if they took ACV. There is also some evidence to suggest that ACV can increase the HDL (good cholesterol) levels in the blood.

Headaches - Most headaches are caused by dehydration or too much alkaline. Sipping ACV daily balances the acid and the alkaline, and then the headaches stop.

Stomach Problems and Diarrhoea - Making a habit of adding ACV to your drinking water every day can help prevent many stomach upsets and mild food poisoning, or make them milder than they would be otherwise. If you do get diarrhoea, the usual 1 tablespoon of ACV in water, with honey if you wish, 3 times a day should clear up most cases. If it persists you might have something more serious, such as dysentery or giardia, so see your doctor.

Urinary Tract Infections - Drinking ACV daily helps prevent and cure infections that arise in the kidneys and bladder. The acid content of the vinegar creates a hostile living environment for germs, potentially harmful bacteria and pyelitis. The high potassium content of ACV attracts moisture to the cells of the body and keeps that moisture from the bacteria that rely on it to survive.

Weight Loss - Many people use ACV as part of their weight-control diet. Taking ACV on its own won't make the weight mysteriously disappear though. ACV works best as part of a healthy diet and regular exercise lifestyle..

ACV corrects the body's PH balance and raises the metabolism. This causes the body to naturally burn more calories, even when you are resting. The high potassium content flushes out sodium from the body. This reverses the effects of water retention which will also lead to some weightloss and help the body get back to its correct weight.

I have been using ACV for more than 10 years now, and I can attest to its weight loss properties and I never get headaches. I also think it tastes great in my drinking water, really refreshing.

I hope you try it and that it improves your life.
