Delicious Foods to Eat – Choose A One Ingredient Label!

Ya, Franz here! When choosing foods to eat each day, it is so important if trying to lose weight, and/or increase overall health, to carefully choose foods that do just that. When you go into the grocery store to stock up the fridge, they don’t tell you “Buy this! These are the most delicious foods to eat!” Even going to Whole Foods, one of my favorite stores of the natural grocers, I observe people walking around and watch what they are buying. Now some are quite robust, and I hope they are there to improve that situation. But, when I look in there shopping cart I don’t see delicious foods to eat, especially for that particular person, if they are after weight loss. Maybe they are not! I figure they are there to buy healthy food, and that they are not at the Super Wal-Mart, where buying over-processed foods is easy. But, even at whole Foods you can make poor food choices. Even they have to offer over-processed foods. And some may say those are delicous foods to eat, but once you try healthy, one ingredient foods, you'll never go back. You know why? Because you will feel so much better!

What you eat is really the most important factor to overall health and natural weight loss. Talk to a vegan. They have no problems with weight. They mostly eat nuts, seeds, grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, and most of these are raw. I have yet to find a vegan with cancer. I have met folks who became vegans and have cured their cancer. I don’t feel that is necessary to have optimal health, but the point is the really delicious foods to eat are those that are natural. If it is grown, or exists in nature, eat it! If it’s artificial, avoid it. As I shop I read labels. Say I am looking for olives. If the label on the jar is other than olives packed in water, any maybe sea salt as a natural preservative, I don’t buy them. It amazes me all the extra stuff food manufacturers feel they have to add. While reading labels, here’s a good general rule: if you don’t know what it is, don’t buy it! Notice how all the foods that are good for you don’t have an ingredient label on them?

Delicious foods to eat, that fall into the “natural and good for you” category include: fresh fruits and vegetables, unroasted nuts, sprouted grains, organic fats, organic dairy, and organic meats and poultry. Ya, Franz likes these foods as he is a protein type (see my article on metabolism typing if you did not read that already). Foods that are artificial and that you should avoid include packaged food, frozen meals, the usual packaged cookies and bakery items, all the artificial sweeteners such as sweet’n low, nutrasweet, and splenda. Also, avoid all hydrogenated oils (the fake fats). Especially avoid high-fructose corn syrup, and any procrssed foods containing this nasty chemical.

The reason it’s so important to avoid these artificial foods comes down to what they do to the liver. It’s your liver that has to know what nutrients to absorb and which ones to remove out of the bloodstream. When it is overloaded with toxins from artificial sweeteners and the chemicals in packaged foods, your liver gets clogged. When this happens it is unable to properly process nutrients and healthy fats. If it can’t process those that your body needs, because of all the toxins, then you will gain weight and not be able to lose it. Also, the bile that your liver produces to detoxify your body, if it becomes overly congested with toxins that are trying to be removed, it won’t be able to function properly.

So, I hope you see from this evidence that one ingredient foods are the most delicious foods to eat, things like: organic eggs, organic cold pressed coconut oil, fruits and vegetables from the fresh produce section (organic if possible), unroasted nuts, olive oil, organic dairy, organic meats, almond butter, etc. I am just naming a few off the top of my head, actually ones I’ve eaten today.

Healthy meal plans can be complicated if you don’t know how to put them together at first: the right mix of proteins, carbs and fats. But, if you stop dieting and just start eating a combination of one-ingredient foods, you will be surprised how good you will feel, and how “watching the scale” each morning will become unnecessary!
