Drinking Water to Lose Weight Now!

It's staggering to think that thirty eight states in America have twenty five percent or higher obesity rates: that's thirty or more pounds overweight. Only twenty years ago that statistic was fifteen percent. Here's another shocking fact: the average adult gets over twenty percent of their daily caloric intake from the beverages they drink. On average that's about four hundred and fifty calories a day, almost thirty five hundred in a week, or that could be converted to a pound of fat if it's not burned off. And by the statistics I guess that is what's happening. Now I know most people are trying to lose weight, not gain it. So, might I suggest instead of adding all these extra calories just try drinking water to lose weight?

A study done by the USDA just a few years ago discovered that soda, flavored water, and sports drinks are the fourth largest source of daily caloric intake for Americans. Now weight loss is big business because most people need to shed a few pounds. Drinking water to lose weight is a very effective method to add to your diet regimen as it can cut fifty thousand calories a year from the average eating plan. That's over fourteen pounds of fat that can accumulate on your body if those calories are not burned off!

Besides drinking water to lose weight for reasons of shedding extra calories, there's also the health benefits of being properly hydrated. Even being a few percent low in your body's water weight can translate to poor mental performance as well as physical performance. Being dehydrated can lead to headaches, problems concentrating, and lack of stamina. On the other hand being properly hydrated allows your body to burn fat the way it's supposed to when added with a proper diet.

So, drinking water to lose weight will help you cut extra calories from your day as well as contribute to your better health. Your body is over seventy percent water, and when it does not get it, you open yourself up to all kinds of results. I continually remind people to take their body weight, divide it in half, and drink that number in ounces each day, at least! It's not hard! When you feel thirsty drink water. Have it with you all the time. Sip water throughout the day! Do you realize even mild dehydration can also lead to false hunger signals leading you to eat extra calories when what your body really wanted was water?

Drinking water to lose weight is the easiest part of a weight reduction plan. And to get that off to a great start, drink only water. Have lots of water throughout the day Eat naturally healthy foods: they have a one ingredient label. Foods like produce, fruit, beans, eggs, raw nuts, lean meat, Alaskan salmon, etc. These choices along with plenty of water will lead to vibrant health and natural weight loss!

Absolutely Sarah! I like my water with a lemon/lime mixture added to it. Adding citrus to my water has the effect of increasing my bodies alkalinity by drinking it that way. And, many will say that cancer cannot thrive in a highly alkaline body!

I tried drinking plain water all the time. I can drink some water. However, I prefer water with some flavoring in it. Sometimes I have to remind myself to get plenty of liquids. I can get dehydrated without knowing it.

Yes Rodney, I agree about the difficulty in getting people to switch. That is why I write so passionately about this subject! I also wrote an article about the horrors of bottled water. Our drinking water should come from a good filtered source, and not RO water either, and never contained long term in a plastic container.

Who ever thought of the bottled water idea made millions I assume. Water is the only real thirst cruncher. It has to be the of the most healthiest choices on the planet. Your article is right on target. I'm not sure if anyone can get the consumer to just drink water as they are hooked on all the other sugar coated drinks.

Great article. Drinking water is good for your health, is it not.? Never found a river of soda in the wild. Just another discovery to make money, soda.

And don't think diet soda is the answer! Check out my article "Diet Soda Facts – What Is In Diet Soda?" if you drink lots of this stuff! Choose water instead!!
