A very common question for those following the gluten free diet is: “Hey is there any kind of birthday cake that I can still have?” Everyone loves celebrating their birthday with a nice big piece of scrumptious devil’s food cake or delicious marble frosted cake but when you go gluten free do you have to give up all of these delicacies? The answer is a resounding NO!!!. There are many cake mixes out there that cater to the gluten free diet. Some of them are really bad and taste like raw cardboard, but there are actually some out there that are really good.

One company that has come out with many highly rated gluten free cake mixes lately is Betty Crocker. For those chocolate lovers out there, Betty Crocker’s Gluten Free Devil’s Food cake is magnificent. As opposed to many other cake mixes, it is very highly rated on Amazon with 4.5 out of 5 stars. Many people have said that it is one of the best if not the best gluten free cake mixes on the market, and many of them have been eating gluten free for years.

Another great Betty Crocker cake mix for those of you that aren’t as fond as chocolate is their Betty Crocker Gluten Free Yellow cake mix. This is a great mainstream cake mix that is highly reviewed and rated across the web. It is great with some gluten free chocolate frosting or a nice almond frosting covering it. This product is perfect for a kid’s birthday as well because they will barely tell the difference between it and regular cake, a trait that is not very common in gluten free products.

Finally, for those of you that are looking for a more universal mix, the Gluten Free Pantry makes a delicious Old Fashioned Cake and Cookie mix. This product is free of both trans-fats and cholesterol which makes it one of the healthier options. This cake mix is also highly touted for being very versatile. You can use it to make delicious sugar cookies, regular cookies, and all kinds of cakes. It is perfect if you have to bring cake or cookies into your kid’s school and they have to be gluten free.

There are a lot of other gluten free cakes on the market. Most of the ones that have good reviews can be found on the gluten free grocery list. A birthday cake is an essential part of any birthday celebration and should not be avoided just because we need to avoid gluten.
