Healthy Weight Loss Foods

Franz’s favorite word is healthy. So, when it comes to healthy weight loss foods, I really love to talk about them. Now there’s a few healthy weight loss foods that I love and use in my meal plans, but most people have been duped into believing that they are unhealthy because of incorrect information about the fat they contain. So what are these foods? Lets talk about avocados, nuts, and coconut oil.

Now I know what you are thinking. There is no way I can eat these healthy weight loss foods! They may be healthy but there’s no way that they can help me lose weight. But, these foods help you lose weight not because of their caloric value, but because of the health benefits that far out way their calories. Eating these foods boosts the number of nutrients your are getting from each calorie.

Yes, avocados are high in fat, but it is monounsaturated fat. Avocados have been classified as a super food these days. The fat in avocados is heart healthy fat. Scientific studies show here are nutrients in avocados that may help prevent cancer. They also have an abundance of antioxidants like vitamin E, beta carotene, and lutien. Avocados are great sliced in a salad, or mashed and used as a spread in replacement of unhealthy mayonnaise. There are so many ways to add avocados to your meal plan!

Okay, coconut oil is a very debated food item! But if you look closely at coconut oil, yes you do find a lot of saturated fat. Now there are good fats and bad fats. Coconut oil has all the good fats: yes saturated but it is a medium chain triglyceride that the body easily breaks down. The body treats it more like a carbohydrate. Coconut oil also increases your metabolic rate which means more calories are burned, and more quickly, just by eating it.

Coconut oil is wonderful for high temperature cooking. It is a safe oil that does not break down and become toxic like other oils. Olive oil is another great oil to use with food, just not for high temperature cooking. So, when it comes to sauteing, coconut oil can turn regular foods into healthy weight loss foods.

Nuts are one of the most beneficial foods you can choose. Now I am not talking about any kind of nuts you can buy at the grocery store. You have to buy raw nuts, not roasted nuts. The roasting process can create cancer causing acrylamides that turn the nuts into a toxin instead of a beneficial food. So when you buy nuts like pecans, walnuts, or cashews, be sure they are raw and unsalted. If you like add your own unrefined sea salt if you like salty nuts.

The best thing about nuts is that even though a small amount may have 200 hundred calories, they are loaded with fiber, vitamins, and minerals that can suppress your appetite. Nuts also have a lot of unsaturated fats that cut cholesterol blood levels too.

If you add these healthy weight loss foods to your weight loss meal plans you will be adding an abundance of power packed nutrition that will satisfy both your taste buds and your body's need for optimal nutrition foods. These three healthy fat foods are a must, so eat them regularly and enjoy them guilt free!
