How To Use Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has got to be the healthiest oil you can use! It contains saturated fat from medium chain fatty acids. The body uses these fatty acids differently than other fats. They are sent to the liver and used directly as energy instead of being stored as fat in the body. After all the false information that was created decades ago doctors and nutritionists are now starting to come around and recommend coconut oil. The important thing though is to know how to use coconut oil to benefit your health.

Coconut oil's beneficial fat, lauric acid, helps build up your immune system, it's a fat that actually aids in preventing heart disease, and it is not converted to fat when consumed. Some studies even show it increases your metabolism.

So, if you want to benefit from all the wonderful properties of this oil let me share some ideas on how to use coconut oil. First off it is the only oil you should use for high temperature cooking as its high smoke point resists becoming rancid and unhealthy at these temperatures. If you are a fan of olive oil for cooking you need to know that olive oil should only be consumed raw or used for low heat sauteing. It is not recommended to use olive oil at high temperatures due to its lower smoke point. But, if you use coconut oil you can replace all your unhealthy vegetable oils and instead bake and cook with this healthier choice.

Other than cooking there are so many other ways on how to use coconut oil. You can eat a spoonful just for a boost of energy, to aid in vitamin absorption, boost your immune system, and improve thyroid function. Taking a spoonful can also relieve indigestion, acid reflux, and heart burn.

Here are some unusual ways on how to use coconut oil. Use a small amount to condition your hair after a shower, use it as a safe and healthy lip moisturizer, you can use coconut oil as a natural underarm deodorant, it is a great makeup remover, it works well for relief of skin irritations and rashes, it can be used as a treatment for athletes foot, it helps heal burns, and relieves bug bites and bee stings.

And there are even more unusual ways on how to use coconut oil. This healthy oil can also be used as a great smelling personal lubricant, to heal and soothe hemorrhoids, for application to the skin for wrinkle prevention, use to relieve a baby's diaper rash, and to massage into your nails to relieve brittleness.

There is no limit to the ways on how to use coconut oil! Are there other products you can use for these issues I just mentioned? Sure there are. But are they as healthy a solution as coconut oil? No! Not only that but it smells great whether you are cooking with it or wearing it! When consuming coconut oil be sure to use organic extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil. When using it for some of these other external uses like getting gum out of your hair you don't have to be so particular.
