I love organic coconut oil so much that I just received my second bottle from Amazon last night. I even ordered an extra bottle for my mother-in-law and I'm sharing mine with my daughter. I started using coconut oil a little over a month ago and I feel very passionate about it. I have decided to write an article about how I use it in my everyday life and how it helps me. I will talk about my experience with coconut oil for the next 5 days. This article will be my coconut oil diary.
Day 1 - January 6, 2012:
Today, I started my morning with a tablespoon of coconut oil in my coffee. I simply added it to my coffee with the regular cream and sugar. My first time doing this (about a month ago), I was a little nervous about what it was going to taste like. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it tasted quite delicious. I guess it helps that I enjoy the taste and smell of coconuts since it gave my coffee a smooth, coconut flavor.
I definitely get an amazing boost of energy in the morning after my coconut coffee. I've read that it's good for digestion and this is how I think it has helped me. I have had problems in the past with digestion and elimination, so I definitely believe the coconut oil has helped me tremendously in this sense. I also notice that I'm not as hungry during the day which is always a good thing.
Day 2 - January 7, 2012:
Okay, so the cold weather is here and my skin is dry and itchy. This morning, I'm testing the coconut oil out on my dry skin. I took my shower as I normally do, dried off, then in place of my regular moisturizer, I used the coconut oil. It absorbs easily into the skin, feels very smooth, and seems to calm my skin. Throughout the day my skin feels soft and healthy. I've read that it's a good idea to apply it at night before bedtime, but I just use mine in the morning.
Day 3 - January 8, 2012:
I drank my coffee this morning with my coconut oil and I applied it as an all-over moisturizer. Later on in the day, as I was preparing dinner, I cut my finger with a sharp knife. I read that coconut oil is good for cuts so I stopped the bleeding, applied some to it, and then added a bandage. It actually soothed it and it felt better instantly. I have read that it helps in the healing process because it is anti-bacterial, so it's protected by germs. There are many anti-properties in coconut oil: anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-carcinogenic, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and finally, anti-inflammatory.
Day 4 - January 9, 2012:
Today, I tested the coconut oil on my hair. Before my shower, I massaged a small amount of coconut oil into my ends and waited about 15 minutes. I then washed and conditioned my hair as normal. My hair felt very soft and looked healthy. It actually strengthens and nourishes the hair. I plan to massage the coconut oil to my ends each time before I wash it to keep it healthy. Also, I have curly hair and it definitely helps control the frizz while promoting shiny, healthy hair.
Day 5 - January 10, 2012:
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with my use of organic coconut oil. There are many ways to use it: for weight loss, skin conditions, healthy hair, and the treatment for many health issues. If your goal is to lose weight, I believe you must consume 3 tablespoons per day. I only consume it in my coffee for help with energy and digestion. In this sense, it works great for me. Everyone has different issues and odds are, the coconut oil can help you, too. I feel amazing, I haven't been sick, and my skin and hair look healthy. There are just so many uses for coconut oil. I give it an excellent rating.
