We all have goals in various areas of our lives including career, family and weight loss. But simply having the goals alone doesn't get you any closer to them. You need an action plan to map out your road to success. If your goal is to eat healthy and/or lose weight, it is essential that you have a plan for what you're going to eat so that you can reach your desired results. Having a meal plan to follow is what's between the current you, and the healthier you, you want to be. In this article I will share some tips that have helped me follow the paleo diet meal plan with grace and ease. If you are serious about getting healthy, these tips will help you as well.
1. Create A Shopping List Ahead of Time
Review the paleo diet meal plan, select the meals that you would like to make for the week and create a shopping list based on the ingredients in those recipes. This will cut your shopping time in half and will prepare you for eating healthy throughout the whole week.
2. Go Shopping Before Your Work Week Starts
Go shopping ahead of time, when you actually have time. Don't wait until you have a million other things on your schedule, or until you're starving. If you do, you will be temped to eat fast food, or other highly processed foods.
3. Work The Plan, Don't Let The Plan Work You
Don't stress yourself out trying to follow the paleo diet meal plan exactly. You are not expected to cook 3 or 4 separate meals a day...who has time for that. Work the plan. What I mean by this is, when you have extra time on your hands make 2 or 3 dishes at once so you will have yummy left overs for days to follow. On your busy days, select meals that are fast and simple. Don't ever feel like just because a meal is marked for Wednesday lunch that you have to make it Wednesday at noon. Make each dish and eat each dish around your own schedule. The trick to this is to making sure you have lots of healthy options in your fridge so you can stay on track regardless of your schedule.
4. Mix and Match Dishes
Be creative, mix and match. For example, say you had a frittata for breakfast and have some left over, have it again with a nice kale salad for dinner. Or say you've chopped up lots of fruit for a fruit salad and ate it as a mid-day snack, you can blend the leftover fruit for a breakfast smoothie the next day.
5. Enjoy New Foods
This is my favorite tip for sure. The paleo diet meal plan includes lots of recipes that you may have never eaten like: Duck a` l'orange, Chicken Liver Pate and Dark Chocolate Venison Stew. Go ahead and reveal your inner chef. Don't be scared to try something new! The paleo diet meal plan is designed to expand your palette and shrink your waistline!
Until next time. Eat well.
