The Diet Confusion
Everywhere we turn, we are told something different regarding what we should eat, how much we should eat and when we should eat it. For example, one diet program says to eat whole wheat, while the other diet program says no carbs; another diet says cut sugar, while the next diet program encourages sugary meal replacement bars. Weeding through all of these mix messages about what is healthy and what's not can be quite confusing and frustrating, don't you agree?
Paleo Diet
Well, I would like to share something different with you; it's called the paleo diet. Although it may be new to you, it goes back at least 2.5 million years, dating to our paleolithic ancestors. This was a time before agriculture and the mass production of sugar laden, highly processed foods. Back to a time when all people ate was the foods that mother nature provided like fish, poultry, game meat, nuts, wild fruit and vegetables. This is the diet that we were evolved to eat many years ago; following it will keep us healthy and fit through all the stages of our lives without any diet pills, portion controls, calorie counting or meal replacement bars or shakes.
The diet for human consumption is really simple, if you can't hunt it or pick it you don't need it. This is so basic but in our modern society full of pre-packaged convenient foods this may seem a bit strange. However, what is really strange is that the foods we are eating are toxic and essentially killing us prematurely. Our modern, "convenient foods" are causing diseases like autoimmune diseases, heart disease, cancer and more.
