Salt is Good for You - Himalayan Pink Rock Salt

I love salt. However, after salt getting so much bad press, I reduced my salt intake significantly, like many people did in the last years. Now that I am reading ferociously about health and nutrition, I realized that salt is absolutely key to our health and should be a natural part of our diet. But it is really important what salt we eat!

For a long time I thought that all salts were the same. My favorite was 'Sea salt' that I used for my cooking - that is, until I researched about salt and the human body. I found that not only a lot of salts are bad for you but that also the best salt to use is a natural pink crystal salt from the Himalayas.

The Himalayas has one of the largest if not the largest reserve of Pink Crystal Salt that was formed million years ago. The Himalayan Pink Crystal Salt is hand-mind by Nepalese workers. For Nepalese businessmen Himalayan rock salt is "white gold." There were ancient cultures in history where trades people used salt as a means of exchange for value and a method of payment. The value of Pink Salt with its high mineral content for our health is like gold.

Adding Himalayan Pinak salt to your diet will have many benefits:

It increases energy, normalizes blood sugar, helps regulate the heart rate, makes brain function more active, increases libido, helps with digestion, reduces sinus problems, stops excess saliva production, helps with sleeping and prevents varicose veins just to mention a few. It is not only used as a culinary ingredient but as a therapeutic goods.

Our body needs salt. So make sure you get the type of salt that is not refined and still contains all minerals so your body benefits from them. Himalayan salt helps to remove toxins from the body, aids circulation, and balances PH levels (acid/alkaline balance). Himalayan Pink Salt supports the correct working of the nervous system. It keeps our muscles in tact plus helps your muscles relax. It stops muscles cramp.

The tiny mineral particles in the Himalayan salt are metabolized easily inside your body and aid the human cells function well.

It is not only health and culinary reasons that people like to use this sea salt, people also like to bath in these salts and use them for therapeutic purposes.

It is available from Health Food and Organic stores. Use it the same way as you would use normal salt. In the same way that treacle is much more tasty than refined sugar, Himalayan rock salt is much more tasty than what you are used to.

I personally only use Himalayan Pink Rock Salt in my kitchen. I use it for cooking and after every oil pulling. I grind some salt in a glass of water and I rinse my mouth after oil pulling. Himalayan salt taste really nice!

Cheers, Piroska

I believe that it`s due to the mineral content that salts can be good or bad for you. Not sure what`s so special about the Himalayas though.

I believe Chip it is because that area is still not polluted and the salt that is mined from there is the purest and one of the oldest and its mineral content is extremely high compared the salt minded at other places in the world.
