The Nutribullet  -  Is it A Scam?

You've probably heard of the NutriBullet first on the infomercial by David Wolfe. In the infomercial, David has made some seemingly far-fetched claims that, unlike other common blenders, the NutriBullet has a patented blade technology that breaks down the cell walls of fruits and vegetables, thereby turning the foods inside out and "extracting" the nutrients that are "trapped" inside. Wolfe claims that this process will turn your healthy food into "super foods."

So I admit, when he first said that this blender/extractor would actually break down cell walls I was a bit skeptical. However, as the show went on and he did a demonstration of blending some ingredients together, including some pickles, lettuce and I don’t know what else, I was shocked to see that this concoction has been turned into a drinkable liquid by NutriBullet. In the meantime, the other blender was also demonstrated with the same ingredients, and let’s just say that you could definitely tell the difference when the two mixes were poured through a screen!

So, while I knew that no blender will ever be able to break down cell walls of anything, creating a more nutritional smoothie, I was intrigued by the fact of turning solid fruits and vegs into a totally drinkable liquid. And doesn’t it make sense that, when a food is broken down into smaller pieces, it would be easier to digest? I believed it did, and so therefore, I had to buy one of these.

I personally ordered the nutribullet from Amazon, and as is typically my experience, it arrived withing 4-5 days. Of course, when you first get a product from the mail, you almost have to check it out right away. So I ripped the box open and hooked it up to the nearest electrical outlet I could find, and then threw some stuff in the pitcher. I really can’t remember what I threw in there the first time, but I do remember that I made it way to full and it started leaking. If I would’ve just read owner’s manual first, I would’ve realized that you should’nt fill it fast the fill line on the pitcher. Nonetheless, I had a mess to clean up afterwards.

I must say though, that it made a terrific smoothie out of mixture of whatever I had in stock, all I had to do was do a little bit of tweaking and… Voila! I felt like a chef! The kicker is, my son eats very little “green stuff” and, when I throw some greens in the blender and add a little something else to change the coloring, he loves it!!

In conclusion, I don’t label the NutriBullet as a scam. Yes, it is a little bit overhyped, and yes, they do make claims that aren’t really true. But hey! It got me and my son eating fruits and veggies, and I can already tell the difference in my energy level. Whether or not it is because of the NutriBullet I really don’t care. It does what I bought it for and I am a satisfied customer!
