Top Three Immune Supportive Herbs

One of the most important things to have in life is our health. You can be a millionaire, speak seven different languages fluently and have a Nobel Peace prize, but if you are not healthy you cannot completely enjoy it. Our bodies maintain our health with a system known as the immune system. The immune system is made up of an intricate system of cells and organs that work together to rid the body of harmful foreign substances and organisms. We can assist our immune system in its war on disease by eating a proper diet, doing regular exercise and taking natural herbs to help promote a strong immune system. I have found that these top three immune supportive herbs are recognize for their ability to enhance and support an immune system which is vital for a full and healthy life. As with any substance you put into your body, make sure you know what you are taking before you take it. If you are in doubt, ask a trained professional. Trained professionals can also give you information on proper doses and mixtures.

Barberry - is an antimicrobial with anti-inflammatory properties that support the immune system. This can be added to other immune supportive herbs to make a strong mixture. It is good for reducing fever and fighting bacterial or viral infection such as the common cold or flu. Uses are as a decoction or tincture.

Cat's Claw - is an immune-stimulant with mild anti-inflammatory properties. This herb stimulates the creation of foreign body fighting cells. It can help reduce fevers and is a powerful immune system strengthener. It is used as a traditional remedy for various diseases and viral infections. Uses are as decoction. Pregnant women and transplant patients should not use this herb.

Echinacea - is a blood purifier. It causes the body to produce more white blood cells that can fight off infections and support a healthy immune system. It is used to treat colds, flu, and a variety of sore throats. Uses are as a decoction or tincture. People with Swine Flu and transplant patients should avoid this herb.

There are a number of herbs that can help maintain proper health.
