We are almost half way through the information that I have collected over the last several years from Prevention. My most recent source of information has been The Cornell Encyclopedia of Health. Most of what I am passing to you are tidbits here and there with no in-depth information.

It may help to point you in the right direction towards information that you need to help improve your nutrition, health and wellness. Each thing that I pass on can be explored and there is so much more information available that I just do not have the time or space to write all of it. So if something sparks your interest, look it up and read all you can. Consult with your doctor about what direction you should take. Good luck in your improved health and wellness.

Here we go with the H's.

If protein and vitamin B2 are under supplied the liver is unable to produce enzymes necessary to inactivate insulin. Excessive insulin accumulates in the blood, causing fat to be formed quickly and the blood sugar to fall. Diabetes and hypoglycemia are difficult diseases to understand, they take a bit of study and research.

Recommendations for hypoglycemia and diabetes is a high protein diet, with no sugar, starch or caffeine. Six small meals daily are better than 3 large meals due to the fact that it stabilized blood glucose levels better. According to Prevention vitamin E 400 units per day, Vitamin B complex of at least 100 mg of each B per day, G.T.F. chromium, not plain chromium 200 per day, Vitamin C 1000 mg per day with bioflavenoids, potassium, B5, B12, magnesium, zinc and carnitine are very helpful. chromium, magnesium and zinc helps to keep blood sugar levels on an even keel.

Hemophilia responds well to Vitamin T. This recommendation was some time ago. Currently they recommend replacing the missing clotting factor.

If you are having hot flashes the selenium is good according to prevention.

They say that if you have a hyperactive child than Vitamin B6 may be helpful

Calcium with at lease of 800 mg per day helps with hypertension.Iodine is good for hypothyroidism.

If you are bothered by night sweats related to a hysterectomy then bee pollen and evening primrose oil is effective

To maintain healthy looking hair than sulphur, chlorine and Vitamin B5 would be effective

A weekend headache is most likely due to not eating on schedule as during the week or if coffee is used more during the week than on the weekend. In this case you are probably having a caffeine headache from caffeine withdrawal. If you want to quit caffeine then withdraw yourself slowly.

Hypoglycemics are prone to headaches and in this case eat several small meals a day and eat a small protein snack before bed. Some people get a headache from some food sensitivity. In this case eat only fresh foods and use an elimination diet to decide which food/foods are causing the headache.

Did you know that you can get a hot dog headache? The cause of this type of headache is the Nitrites that is generally added to hot dogs. Read your labels, and watch for nitrites and add this to your do not buy list.

Headaches can be caused by poor nutrition. In this case the best cure is prevention with a well-balanced diet and evenly spaced meals.

Has anyone ever heard of the Chinese Restaurant Syndrome (headache). The cause of this type of headache is the msg in food as a flavor enhancer. When you order Chinese ask that they leave the msg out. Don't start your meal with soup either, start with salad or a roll.

Maybe your headache is a hangover headache. Don't drink to excess to start with. Eat fruit or honey or tomato juice as fructose helps to body metabolize ethyl alcohol.

Zinc accelerates the healing process in the medical field zinc is often used for this purpose.

Heart disease responds favorably to magnesium. And a phosphorus works to keep the heart regular.
