Whey Protein Drink - What Is The Best

A whey protein drink is a great way to keep healthy when you have a fast schedule, erratic appetite, or maybe don't like to cook. Whey protein is good for muscle building, and keeping you energized. It is also instrumental in staying in a higher metabolism fat burning mode.

Protein does not directly boost your metabolism like a diet product stimulant, or a spice. However, consuming enough protein tells your body that you are sufficiently nourished, and that it may go ahead and burn fat. Seeing as every cell in your body needs protein to keep up its basic structure and then perform its amazing life-creating functions, this is a nutrient you had best be well aware of.

The Best Whey Protein

There is a belief in the nutritional health care industry that cattle raised on grains, which are rarely non-genetically modified and organic, are diseased by the time they get off the feed lot. The huge amounts of drugs and growth hormones added to their food is also something that conscientious doctors do not recommend for your optimum health.

The food additives that commercial beef consume end up in YOUR body. These include antibiotics that you do not need. Growth hormones that you, and your children do not need. In fact, premature adolescence is attributed to commercial meat, fish and other food products because of the hormone imbalances they cause.

Whey protein made from the milk of these unfortunate cows will contain all the contaminants mentioned above.

Not A Belief But A Fact

You may or may not fall in step with the the various food awareness movements, which for some, are irrelevant. However, here's a health fact about grass fed beef - the resulting food products are higher in omega 3 fatty acids than commercially fed beef. I think we need every chance we can get to consume foods with this important balance of oils.

Omega 3 fatty acids decrease inflammation in our body tissues such as:

  • arteries
  • joints
  • bowel
  • brain
  • blood
  • skin (wrinkles are a result of inflammation)
  • fascia
  • neural tissues

Which is pretty well everything.... and since inflammation is the source of all degeneration and dysfunction in our bodies, namely all aging factors, and since you are going to eat some form of protein about three times a day... why not choose a food product that helps you stay biologically younger?

On the other hand, omega 6 oils, are not bad fats, if they are not balanced by the omega 3 oils, will increase inflammation in your body. Diabetes, cancers, IBS, joint disintegration, arthritis, and other painful conditions, are all inflammatory conditions.

More About The Best Whey Protein Drink

A high quality protein drink will contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners. These neuro-toxins are unnecessary when natural low calorie sweeteners like Stevia and Lo Han are available. Xylitol is widely used as well in the better protein drinks, and this sweetener will not spike your blood sugar or confuse your brain. Some people find it gives a laxative effect, but you can build up tolerance for this.

If you need to avoid gluten, you will find a product that is gluten free. This is a common need and manufacturers have become accommodating.

Avoid Soy Protein

It is a pity, but a couple of decades after it was thought that soy would save the world, it turns out not to be so. Soy needs to be fermented before it qualifies as a good food. Whey protein will digest better and actually feed your body. Read the labels when you are shopping, and make sure you are getting the best product.

You can benefit greatly from a whey protein drink, and I hope I've helped you learn about what is the best.
