When most women get engaged, they immediately go on a diet, hoping to lose weight and fit into a much smaller dress. There have even been reports of women who have gone to such extremes to accomplish their weight loss that they were willing to have a naso-gastric tube inserted into a nostril and then snaked down into their tummy. That practice sets the woman back $1500 and may help them lose as much as ten to twenty pounds in most cases. At the other end of the wedding preparation spectrum, however, is a woman named Susanne Eman. In addition to planning for her upcoming wedding, Susanne has announced that her goal is to become the fattest woman in the world.
Eman, a 32 year old woman from Arizona, is well on her way. At eight hundred pounds Eman is already facing a major challenge for her wedding dress, having to resort to having it specially made for her. Her dress, off white at her request, will feature a waist that is well over one hundred inches wide, or nine feet all the way around.
The quest to become the fattest woman in the world is certainly not without its serious risks. Eman was featured on the Dr. Oz show where she continually argued that her health was not affected by her super obesity, however, Dr. Oz was not convinced. But, according to the bride to be, she gets regular health checks as well as monitoring her blood sugars and blood pressure at home on her own. To reach her goal, Eman must reach more than 1200 pounds, the record formerly held by Rosalie Bradford. Ms. Bradford died from her weight in 2006.
To feed herself and her children, Eman shops once a month, spending as much as eight hours or longer in a store and filling multiple carts. Each day, she consumes roughly 20,000 to 30,000 calories from foods that she posts on her personal web site and her twitter account. In addition to that site, Eman is featured on another site that allows men who are interested in super obese woman to see photos and to chat with them.
Eman's story is not a new one. Donna Simpson had previously announced a similar quest, setting out to weigh in at a thousand pounds. She had a relationship that was encouraging her overeating but that ended in 2011. By the time she changed her mind, Simpson's weight had cost her health and much of her mobility. She shut down the web site that celebrated her overeating and relaunched it as a dieting site. Her new goal is to reach three hundred pounds.
I have read alot about Susanne. She seems upbeat and happy. Good luck to her and her hubby-to-be!
Unbelievable! Wow.... and should Eman be reading comments, many best wishes for the wedding! Every bride is beautiful on that special day!
O wow! that's deep. I can't do it. She must be crazy. lol
Sad if you ask me. The woman probably realized at 1 point she had a lot of trouble losing weight, so she decided to take the easy route and set the world's biggest record. Pretty sad.... She'll probably end up killing herself if her heart doesn't crush from all the pressure. It scares me just to think about it.
Interesting, Amie. My mind cannot relate to this goal of trying to be the fattest woman alive.
I know and people pay to watch these women eat- the whole feeder community is terrible and sick.
Wow, there has to be a lot of emotional pain involved there. It's the opposite of anorexia, in my view. We should try to keep ourselves healthy that's the main objective. Great article didn't know this was going on. April
If you get a chance, watch her appearance on Dr. Oz. He was genuinely concerned about her but she insisted that her weight was not a health issue and that she was very happy.
