How to Reverse Obesity

If you're struggling with your weight and are wondering how to reverse obesity you must first understand that you are not alone in this battle. In fact, there are over 60 million American aged 25 and over who are suffering from obesity and obesity-related illnesses. Many people who hear the word "obese" just create an image of someone who is extremely fat. The problem is that our understanding of this disease is only at the surface. There are numerous other diseases and illnesses that are related and a result of being obese.

However, the good news is that when you empower yourself with the right knowledge and tools you can lean how to reverse obesity and subsequently reduce your risk for related diseases at the very same time. But the task of getting from point A to point B is much easier said than done. With so many opposing views and new fad diets it's very difficult for the obese person to know which path to choose and who to listen to.

First and foremost you should consult your physician. He or she can help you understand why learning how to reverse obesity may save your life. It goes without saying that obesity is the #2 preventable disease that can be reversed, and within a short enough period of time your body will being to react to the positive healthy changes and from then on it becomes a domino effect. You sleep better, stress levels are reduced, more energy allows for more movement.

Daily physical activity, even the smallest of things like walking 2-3 times a day for 10 minutes each time can drastically reduce cardiovascular related illnesses. Decreasing the amount of fat that surrounds the trachea will allow for more oxygen and better breathing during sleep: the time when the body heals itself.

When you come to realize that knowing how to reverse obesity means starting small and working towards a bigger goal, you will set yourself up for success and not failure. After what is most often years if not decades of battling weight issues such as food addiction, one cannot just expect to lose weight in an instant. You didn't gain one full pound in one day alone, so why expect to lose it in half a day?!

A key ingredient to knowing how and where to start is by listening to the advice of those who are a success story. You see it on tv, but that's not always such a "reality" as they like us to think. However, of the 60+ million obese adults living in the USA, there are many who have overcome this and have found a solution. A solution for the long-term.

I like this article. I view myself as knowing a lot about weight loss but that is because I am a weight-aholic. I don't have a single food addiction but I do get lazy and watch the scale move upwards because I didn't feel like cooking healthy or walking that extra block with my dog.
