Lose That Blubber, You Know You Can!
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

Ok, you look in the mirror and you don't like what you see. Love handles. When you grab them, what do you see? But you can lose that blubber today. Start by telling yourself, with a little desire, motivation, and work, I can lose this weight, for good!

You know there are 100 reasons why you should shed those pounds, but until you admit it to yourself, nothing is going to happen. Oh I am sorry, something will happen. You will get fatter! Here is a quick list of 5 simple steps to help you begin this process.

1. Know what you want. Write it down on paper. 2. Know where you don't want to be 3. Keep a journal of your results. 4. Hold yourself accountable if you slide away from your goals.

Here are some diseases that are associated with obesity. Maybe when you read these, it might motivate you or someone you love to go along with your losing weight program. Colon cancer, uterine cancer, brest cancer, congestive heart failure, and sleep apnea. Heart disease is probably the major symptom of this whole list. Also included in this list is depression, joint pain, irregular menstruation and heart burn.

Being fat is not a permanent disability. Losing weight will help you gain stamina, productivity, self-esteem, and lower health insurance rates. That's right. Your health insurance rates could go down if you lose that fat! If that's not motivation, I don't know what is.

While some people say, "I can't lose weight. I have tried already." Some people just give up even before they start a program. There are several reasons why some people can't lose weight.

1. Medical- insulin resistance, adrenal exhaustion, and hypothyroidism

Before starting any diet or exercise plan, please consult your doctor and get a physical.

2. Overeating- eating disorders. This is mostly due to emotions. You need emotional nurturing and proper emotional care. Find out what's bugging you. Is it work, kids, finances, spouse? Take five minutes out of every hour of the day just to chill. Stop. Unwind. Think. Relax. Take a stroll and clear your brain of the frustrations we all deal with in our day to day life. Stay away from food while you do this exercise. Far away.

3. Wrong Weight Loss Program- The weight loss program you selected for yourself may well in fact be the wrong one. That's why it is very important to consult your doctor first. What worked for someone else, might not work for you.

Weight loss is achievable. But just like anything else, it takes work, dedication, perseverence. But try to make it fun. But you need to just try.
