What Is Obesety And Its Effects

A person is considered obese if their body fat BMI or body mass index is equal to or greater than 30. This index is calculated from a persons height and weight.

Obesity is a leading cause of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some types or kinds of cancer. Foods high in sugar, salt and fat and the consumption of these types of foods are one of the leading causes of obesity in both adults and children. According to the CDC more than 72 million adults are obese with an estimated annual medical cost of $147 billion. So now that we know some of the reasons why we gain these excess pounds from foods with sugar and fats and the cost for treating ailments caused by obesity lets discuss some of the things we can do to curb these weight gains.

First we can eliminate some of the sugary drinks we consume, about 60 percent of adults drink at least one sugary drink per day, this should be replaced with plain old water. There are foods out there like meat, vegetables and fruits with less fat, sugar and salt and prepared the right way will be very tasty and filling without adding excess weight. These types of foods should be used to replace fast food burgers and fries. I know it is very difficult to pass up on a fast food restaurant when you are out and about but those kind of food stops will be the biggest downfall or obstacle for you, in losing any kind of weight.

There are many ways to lose that excess weight whether it be 1-2 pounds or  a 100 pounds or more. But sticking to those diets or exercise programs will be the real killer.  Some programs are very expensive and some are modest in cost whether you buy a gym membership, a treadmill or other home exercise equipment.  But without all of the proper tools to guide you through this weight lose journey you will more than likely fail as most of us do. What ever the reason you have to lose weight whether it be for health, looks or just to fell better each day you get out of bed, you should consider a plan that works and work that plan.

You need to take a real  hard look at your situation and make a decision as to how you want to lose that extra weight and for what reason then jump in, to me one of  the best ways to lose weight would be to continue to  eat and grow thin, wouldn't that be great.
