West Bengal Technical Education will conduct WBJEE 2014 to provide admissions to candidates into undergraduate engineering courses across the top colleges. WBJEE 2014, expanded as West Bengal JEE 2014 is one of the forerunning engineering entrance examinations whichis estimated to be taken by approximate 7 lakhcandidates, aspiring to take B.Tech after higher secondary schooling.

WBJEE 2014 Reservation of Seats

Out of total intake of candidates on seats, a fixed percentile of seats will be reserved. Description of this is given below:

• SC: 6%

• ST: 22%

• PwD: 3%

Defense Category Reservation

  1. Total Seats for defense category reservation: 12
  2. Seats for govt. colleges: 7
  3. Seats for Jadavpur University: 2
  4. Seats for Bengal Engineering & Science University: 3

10% of total seats will be specially allotted to JEE Main 2014 Merit Rankers.

WBJEE 2014 Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum aggregate required in the qualifying exam (class XII or equivalent): 45% (General) and 40% (SC,ST) in PCM and 30% in English (for both categories).

• Minimum aggregate required in the qualifying exam for Marine Engineering: 60% (All Categories) and 50% in English.

• All the subjects (PCM and English) must be passed individually.

• Candidate must be a permanent resident of West Bengal from past 10 years OR his/her parents must be permanent residents of the state.

• Candidate’sage must be 17 years or more in December 2013.

• No upper age limit exists for engineering except 25 years for Marine Engineering.

WBJEE 2014 Exam Pattern

• Number of questions: 200 [80(Math) + 60 (Physics) + 60(Chemistry)]

• Category of questions: Category 1, 2 and 3.

• Grand total marks: 250

• Questions level: Class XI, XII syllabus.

• Subjects: Math, Physics and Chemistry

Category 1

  1. 1 mark for right answer
  2. 1/3 mark deduct for incorrect or multiple answers

Category 2

  1. 2 mark for right answer
  2. 1/3 mark deduct for incorrect or multiple answers

Category 3

  1. Questions with multiple right answers (more than one option is right).
  2. Tick all the answers for complete credit
  3. Evaluation for partially correct answer =2 x Number of Correct answers / Total number of Correct answers

WBJEE 2014 Application Form

In order to apply for WBJEE 2014 Entrance Exam, candidates are required to fill WBJEE 2014 Application Form. There are two ways to fill the application form, online and offline. It can either be downloaded from the official website or filled manually with pen OR it can be filled online itself on the official website. Here we present to you the step by step process of form filling and submission:

• Download the form from the official website or access directly to apply online.

• Enter all the educational, personaland correspondence details precisely.

• Safely keep the application number for future use, as shown after successful submission.

• Submit the application form fee of Rs.500 through any of the 2 modes described here:

• E-Post challan – Remit the challan online at e-post office with web connectivity.

• Allahabad Bank challan – Remit the challan fee at any Core Banking Solution (CBS) branch of Allahabad Bank.

• Fill the transaction details in the online form carefully.

• Obtain the confirmation page created after submitting payment information.

• Put two recent colored passport sized photos in the WBJEE 2014 Application Form. One of the photos must be self attested by the candidate.

• Apply left hand thumb impression neatly and mark signatures of self and parents in the spaces as marked.

• Attach all the relevant documents, form and deliver it to the given address thru speed post before last week of February 2014:
