A Newbie’s guide to Making WoW Gold

In World of Warcraft, Gold is the primary currency that you will encounter. With Cataclysm’s release, players at max level have obscene amounts of gold, and unfortunately this causes rapid inflation of the WoW Economy. You can, however, keep your piece of the pie, if you know how to make WoW gold while leveling.

#1 Sell Everything: Sometimes you may run out of bag space, and you may be tempted to just trash some items for the sake of saving time while leveling. However, you can actually make a substantial amount of gold if you just hold on and sell these items in the right places. Grey quality items will go to the vendors. A handful of these can make you some nice coin. However, anything of white quality, from meats, to feathers, to elemental items, is where you will make the majority of your WoW Gold. Occasionally you will find a green, blue, or if you’re really lucky, purple quality item. These are an extra bump of gold in your bank.

#2 Get Bigger Bags: This is the answer to destroying items in #1. The less time you spend running back and forth to town, the more time you have to continue questing and collecting all your profitable items. Netherweave bags are currently the cheapest, so I would recommend upgrading to those immediately. If you choose professions, then you can also invest in the specific bags that hold anywhere from 24-36 slots. This helps you out immensely. The more you can hold, the more you can Make WoW Gold.

#3 Get a pack mule: ok you don’t actually have access to one of these in game. But you can create a level 1 character which you can run up to a major city for the purpose of receiving all items for the bank, or the auction house. Eventually, this mule can even create a guild, simply for the ability to create a guild bank. This saves you a trip to a major city, and saving time is making WoW Gold.

#4 Vendors: Yes, you can make WoW Gold by selling these guys some of your trash from questing. However, you can also buy from vendors, and re-sell their wares on the auction house for a decent profit. Simply visit all of the profession suppliers, and you can sometimes find crafting materials that can be bought dirt cheap, and re-sold on the auction house. Examples include enchanting rods, essences and dusts from enchanting vendors. Limited edition recipes are also very profitable if you know where to find them.

#5 Professions: Gathering professions, such as herbalism, mining, and skinning, can make you thousands of gold while leveling, and don’t really take away from game time. They are an excellent source of income and offer some pretty decent bonuses as well. Crafting professions require a little more of an investment. #6 Add-ons! Add-ons are programs that you can install that slightly alter the way you experience World of Warcraft. Some change the way your spells are laid out, while others change the way you view the auction house. A personal favorite of mine is Manaview Tycoon. Tycoon has several modules to help you with gold farming, gathering professions, crafting professions, auction house trading, and daily quests. It is my personal favorite, and has helped me make WoW Gold by the thousands in only a few short days.
