Clean Out Your Pantry

Magical things can happen when you clean out your pantry. Let me tell you about just some of them. It's not drudgery to clean out your pantry! It can be great fun and lead to delicious results.

Especially if your pantry is jammed, it's guaranteed to be full of buried treasure you've forgotten about, especially things that were gifts and out of the ordinary for you. Packets of gourmet items from gift baskets, unusual vinegars begging to be tried on a salad, some spice you bought for a recipe you made only once and so much more. Real maple syrup from Vermont - doesn't that make you want to make pancakes? How about the herbal tea a friend brought over when you were sick? It could probably help keep you well!

How about the beignet mix you bought in New Orleans? Try it - making beignets is a lot easier than you think. Warning: make sure you have family or guests around or you will eat them all yourself! I just found two squares of unsweetened chocolate behind a cookbook. Soon they will be a pan of brownies to bake and freeze and pull out the next time I have guests.

Get Inspired to Clean Out Your Pantry

Still not inspired to clean out your pantry? How about saving money? First, you could probably eat for a week without buying a thing because there are so many things you've forgotten in the back of your pantry. And when there's lots of room in your pantry, you can save more by buying in bulk and actually using it because it's not hidden away in the garage.

Fabulous Results Happen When You Clean Out Your Pantry

Think about all the miscellaneous items you find when you clean out your pantry. There's the box and receipt for something you wanted to return - that's like finding money! Those three extra bottles of glass cleaner you bought when they are on sale and meant to put in each bathroom. The things you find and put to use will make life easier.

Then there's the borrowed blender you keep forgetting to return - use it as an excuse to drop by your neighbor's house and catch up. There's probably some pretty gift wrap and bags - use it to surprise someone by wrapping up those brownies and writing a note saying "just because." How about the flashlights with dead batteries? You'll be glad you got them working again if your power goes out.

Go ahead and have fun when you clean out your pantry. You'll find delicious treats, use forgotten ingredients to create economical meals and delicious deserts and get your home in order, too.
