The Pros And Cons Of Sandless Beach Mats

Not many people will have heard about sandless beach mats because you don't tend to see many of these products when you go to the beach. However they are slowly starting to gain in popularity, and people are starting to appreciate the benefits of these particular beach mats.

As with all products, there are of course pros and cons. So I thought is was worth looking at both the benefits and the drawbacks of sandless beach mats, or sand-free beach mats as they are sometimes referred to.

If we start with the benefits, I guess the main reason why you would want to buy one of these products is because they do not allow sand to accumulate all around you when you are sunbathing.

Their multi-layered design ensures that sand can pass through, often without any intervention, and cannot subsequently return back through from the other side. If you do happen to get a bit of sand on the top of one of these mats, you simply need to rub it in with your hand in order to allow it to pass through.

A further benefit is that you are less likely to get sand in your food or personal belongings, and you should have a lot less sand sticking to your body after you have applied sun cream lotion.

It should also be pointed out that they are multi-purpose as well. Whilst many people will use them whenever they travel to the beach, they can also be used when you are taking a picnic or camping outdoors because they enable dirt and dust to pass through just as easily as sand.

With regards to the drawbacks of these innovative products, one of the biggest drawbacks is that these products are often more expensive than the basic beach mats that are often made from straw.

Another reason why you might be put off the idea of buying a sandless beach mat is because they are often heavier than the standard ones as well. If it is a really hot day, you don't really want to be lumbering a heavy duty beach mat around with you, and you certainly don't want to risk going over your luggage allowance if you are flying abroad either, which could happen.

So before you buy a sandless beach mat, you should take all of these pros and cons into consideration. Overall I would say that the pros outweigh the cons, but some people will of course prefer to use their lightweight straw mats, which is perfectly understandable.
