Hemorrhoids And Bleeding: What You Need To Know

Anyone who is suffering from hemorrhoids and bleeding knows all to well how horrible it is. But there is no reason to panic and freak out just yet.

It is important that if you are suffering from bleeding hemorrhoids that you get some easy to digest information first.

If you have hemorrhoids and you are seeing blood that is more of a bright color then you are very likely dealing with internal hemorrhoids.

If this is the case then it is important that you see a doctor to make sure the blood is being caused by hemorrhoids and not something more serious.

In some cases people with a diagnosis of bleeding hemorrhoids have been known to develop additional bleeding from other areas of the intestine. If this happens it is very important to seek medical care at once as it may be a sign of something more serious.

If you have been noticing that your bowel movements have bright red blood in them and a doctor has told you that you have a case of bleeding hemorrhoids.

At this point you may be wondering what exactly is causing these "piles" or hemorrhoids to start bleeding in the first place.

There can be many reasons for bleeding hemorrhoids. A slight increase in the pressure in your abdomen caused by obesity, pregnancy, a sedentary lifestyle and straining are some of the possible culprits.

That pressure acts on the blood vessel that is already enlarged because of the hemorrhoids and can cause them to rupture, thus introducing blood into your stool.

Constipation: If you are constipated it simply means that you are suffering from stool which is dry and hard and does not pass easily. Constipation can be caused by a few things, but most commonly it is caused from low fiber content in your diet.

The harder the stool is the harder time it has moving out of your body. Since the job of your colon is to remove water from the stool, this makes it even drier which can tear the hemorrhoidal veins that are already giving you trouble. These tears lead to the bleeding that you notice in your stool.

Irritants: Things like caffeine and alcohol can make the affected hemorrhoid area inflammed and much more likely to bleed if you are already suffering from them.

You can also bleed from cracks in and around your anus called anal fissures. Often caused by blood or fecal matter these fissures make it quite hard to properly get the area clean due to the extreme tenderness and sensitivity in the affected area.

There are methods you can use though to try and get the area clean. A common method is using what is called a sitz bath, which is very simply a method of soaking the inflamed hemorrhoidal tissue in a bath of warm water.

It is important to not use any kind of perfumes or soaps though, as these can cause further irritation and can make matters worse back there.

Nobody likes suffering with hemorrhoids and bleeding and the discomfort that comes with it. But there are things you can do to help yourself heal safely and naturally that will really help you get back to living your life.

It is important not to try and avoid the situation however which a lot of people tend to do. By trying to ignore the problem you aren't doing yourself any favors, and you could even be putting yourself in danger.

The only way to really treat painful piles is to acknowledge their existence and take the proper course of action so that you may be rid of them one day in a safe and natural manner.
