How To Avoid Pain During Workout

Muscle pains are so hard to deal with after workouts. It is not felt initially upon the end of a workout session, but when you rest quickly or you shower and went straight to bed, come tomorrow morning and you’ll feel the stiffness of the body part you’ve worked out. Some trainers would say that if this happens, your body is trying to send a message to you that you are in need of protein and that the protein you have took during that said workout is inadequate. This statement surprises me. I take at least 30g of protein before and after my workout, and to top it all I still drink soymilk or non-fat milk before I go to bed, but during the next day my body still hurts. Another explanation by most trainers out there is that probably I haven’t done my workout routine for a long time. Now this statement is probably the one I agree with, but with proper correction of that statement.

You see when I didn’t go to the gym for maybe 3 to 4 weeks and then I have settled to have a go at the bench press right at this moment; my strength is usually at its best during these long pauses of weight-lifting. I feel like I can work out 3 body parts with all full sets and this kind of feeling usually puts myself in danger. I remembered that workouts are done progressively and the desired body built is not attained by a session doing a whole body workout. It is not also done by an abrupt strenuous workout that might lead to muscle injury and muscle tearing.

What I did was I’ve changed how I look at my workout program. I no longer rush to achieve the body I want and not because I am already seeing results right away, but it is more fun to me to see myself improving within every session.

To avoid body pains during workouts, here are my tips. Try to warm up first. Stretch out your muscles starting from your head down to your toes. Next is to try a little jogging, maybe run on the treadmill or pedal the stationary bike. After that is your workout proper, if you do weight lifting, have it ready after warm-up. When you’re lifting weights, I would like to suggest for you to try lifting the barbells and dumbbells that you can finish a whole set with complete repetitions with. If you finish a biceps workout on a 20-pound dumbbell yet, try reducing it to 15lbs then try completing the set and reps. At the end of your workout, try to not rest very long. Try to rest for 3 minutes then stretch your muscles again and go back to the stationary bike (jogging or treadmill too), but this time you do this kind of workout in a slow pace until you stop and then you can rest.

Pain during workout is very inevitable even if you take 100g of protein per workout. If you do not take careful steps on how you perform your gym activities, you could really endanger your body. Try to use these simple steps so that the next morning when you get up from bed, body pain is not that severe. Have a great day! 
