Beads? Yes, those little things with a hole in the middle to string them up. Those can be some of the most inexpensive and most creative crafts that you can help your child to make. There are endless possibilities of what they can come up with. With countless colors, shapes, sizes and materials they are made of, the sky is truly the limit with what they can make. It could be cute and sweet, loving and sentimental, or silly and gets a great laugh. The point is, you can find them easily and cheaply and make tons with them. Lets take a look at some of the easier and more common ways to use beads.
Neclaces/Bracelets
Just about every girl out there has, wants, or has had, a neclace or bracelet at some point. Many have a few and even more WANT more of them! What better way to satisfy their urge to have jewelry than to help them make their own. Or even better, let them make one for a friend or family member as a gift. They will get the enjoyment of the craft and the pride as they ( or the person they gave it to) wears it.
Fusing Beads
Fusing beads are a little different. If you grew up in the 80's and 90's, chances are, you at least saw these at some point. These are relatively small, squishy beads that you place on pegs then iron to fuse them to each other to make a picture. I got the pleasures as a child to make several of these, though I don't have any of them any longer. These are probably better for children past the stage of putting objects in their mouths as these are small and tempting for little ones to chew on.
Glued Beads
What, exactly, are glued beads? Well, have you ever taken macaroni or beans and glued them to a piece of construction paper as a craft? Glued beads are the same concept. With the amount of colors and shapes available, an entire sheet of paper can be completely filled with a beautiful picture made out of a ton of beads and glue. To really make a project like this stand out, try letting your child add some glitter glue over the tops of yellow beads to look like the sun shining, dew on the grass or the water of a lake, river, pond or swimming pool.
Beads are some of the easiest crafts for kids. The best part being the huge availability of them as well as their low cost. Bead crafts are never hard to find. .
