We have watched as the public school system has taken some seriously bad moves. In turn, we have notices that home schooling support and educational tools have increased and improved. This may have you asking then, is home school the right thing for my family?
Some benefits to home school is having the choice of what you will teach. Also the home school is flexible to special needs or learning styles. With lots of resources and materials to offer and giving one on one attention improves overall culture of your home school. In the public schools children find themselves with thirty plus peers, some needing one on one (and not receiving the help needed)and others move forward. Many are the displaced children. Some not finding the freedom to enjoy learning. Or ever reaching all they could have been.
The caliber of the recent generations can prove respect and honoring the family is old news. We allow our children to bond with their peers and teachers all day every day. I believe there are great teachers out there. Part of the over load is administration duties take so much of their time, it is an overwhelming challenge to meet thirty plus students needs all on their own. Burned out teachers, not enough parents involved, can only produce.....less then a home school could.
Really. The is a large amount of help out there for the home school. The networks and the people committed to sharing their experiences to better some one else, are effective and successful. Plug into a place you can grow. Somewhere you can build a team.
To top it off. I want to mention the very fact that grades improve when in a home school setting. Not having the pressures of peers involved with risky behaviors, around to distract and influence. Like drugs and alcohol, and even sex(as young as ten years old!!) Six out of ten students experience a bully With no programs enforced to rescue them. Most parents send their children to school to learn about everything in life. The thing about that is the teachers are there to teach academics. Not how to build values and standards, or even how to have effective and successful relationships. This mistake a lot of parents make. Lets be the teachers of all that is important to us and our students, giving them a standard and some values they can make their own.
The relationships developed in a home school setting are deep and rewarding. There truly wont be a more meaningful commitment you will ever make, then to nurture and teach your student to live a life full of success and joy.
