Being a stay at home mom can feel like your days are stuck on repeat. Clean, cook, take care of the kids, eat, sleep, repeat. Here are a few tips to help you feel like your day is a little different from the previous day.

Set aside time during the day for housework. Try to make it so it does not seem like that is what you do all day long. There's nothing worse than reflecting on your day, and feeling like all you did was clean. Try to spend 30 minutes per day cleaning and straightening up. Clean the bathrooms one day, dust another day, sweep and mop the next. Split up the tasks so that you don't end up having to do them when you feel that your house has become filthy. If you are the type of person that likes to do certain chores daily, try to do them when your kids are taking a nap or when they are preoccupied with something.

Keep a list in the kitchen to make it easy to write things down that you need from the grocery store. This makes it really easy to be able to write down items that you run out of right when you run out of them. I always try to make a mental note of things I need, and they seem to get lost with all the other notes I've tried to mentally keep up with for the day. It helps so much just to write it down.

Organize! It helps so much when you are trying to get things done quickly and easily to know exactly where everything is. I organized my son's closet with Rubbermaid storage bins. All of the clothes he has not grown into yet are all in their separate bin depending on the size. Keep things neat and tidy so you always know where everything is when you need it.

Keep counter tops, tables, and nightstands clutter-free. Try to put things in their proper places instead of putting them down just anywhere. Having this kind of mindset is great to teach your children as well. Instead of leaving toys all over the floor, put them back where they belong. Same goes for bills, nick-nacks, pens, and cooking supplies left out on the counter.

Look for things to do in your city. Try to plan an outing of something new and fun you have yet to experience. On a tight budget? There are probably still lots of things to do around town that won't cost you a dime. One of my favorite things to do with my fiance and son is to walk around a local park in our town. There are so many things to see and do while you're there. If you have older kids, pack a picnic lunch and a blanket to enjoy while you're there.

Whether you are trying to figure out how to make your days stand out from one another or just learn how to prioritize tasks, having a weekly schedule planned out and keeping your house organized will cut time out of housework and will allow you to spend more time with your children. You might even get some time for yourself, too!

I totally agree with all you have said. I get lost in the daily "stay at home Mom" duties frequently! I did have a list of chores for myself a couple years ago and it seemed to make my obsession of a clutter free and clean home a little more easy to reason with. I am definitely getting my pen and paper out to start my daily chores list again!
