Research and studies brought the public to a medical survey and diagnosis that 1 out of 10 children are identified to have the inattentive and hyperactive symptoms of ADHD. Because of this issue, health specialists are more worried and are trying to come up with other alternative treatments that will cure the symptoms of the disorder considering the effects they may have on them.
Health specialists usually base on patient’s behavior and attention and compare them to children not having Attention Deficit Disorder. By this, they are able to identify whether the child is suffering from ADHD or any other behavioral disorder. This can be successfully done with the help of teachers and parents. They are those who are with the children at almost all times and can keenly observe every behavior of the child. Questionnaires are commonly given to the patient, their parents and teachers. After the results are carefully evaluated, they are then compared to the diagnostic manual of Attention Deficit Disorder or the DSM-IV. After which, symptoms are weighed and a plan will be made on what therapy or medication will be given to the patient with the help of their teachers and parents.
Hyperactive symptoms are very much dominant on ADHD patients. Patients, most especially children, usually suffer from dynamic and unpredictable symptoms of hyperactivity. They usually have a very short attention span. They are also easily irritated. Often times they become depressed and throw their tantrums. Because of their hyperactivity they may experience other complications such as dizziness, pains and slight fever.
Hyperactivity may be rooted from emotional problems and or physical abuse. These conditions must be immediately and properly addressed to health specialists especially to psychiatrists and psychologists.
Research and studies also show that too much exposure to food chemicals especially the artificial contents of food can result to hyperactive symptoms in ADHD. This can also obviously result to poor nutrition and to allergies as well. Health specialists always explain to patients and parents that chemical content of food will always affect their child’s nutrition may it be for the better or worse. They must be very careful with their children’s diet as well. Some patients suffer from unusual changes in their sugar level that makes the patient hyperactive and experience difficulties in the tasks they are given which may result to poor performances in school. They must also avoid chemically contained sprays such as deodorants and perfumes.
