When to Volunteer

We Care Volunteer:

My first experience as a professional volunteer was with the Los Angeles County Coroners Office. I was looking forward to being part of the investigative team. But, my assignment was to inside the transportation department which was a piece of cake for me. Did I really want to get involved? Since I was already doing a lot of driving at my full-time job.

I always had the belief that one day I would be able to help other people. I didn't know how this was going to happen. This would have a positive impact on the lives of others plus using tact was very important. But, I was wrong trying to do volunteer work without the right training and starting out was so hard...I almost gave up. Getting accepted as a volunteer was harder than I realize when I was a teenager.

Volunteer Match:

I ran into so many road blocks at first, it was like hitting a brick wall. Most companies at the time would not even accept me. I found out the hard way you have to live in a certain community for some companies. So, I almost decided to put these ideas of becoming a volunteer on the back burner.

So many people will never get a chance to experience this type of rewarding volunteer experience. The rich, deep emotions that bind people together and the feeling of being helpful. My first experience was gruesome and terrible it was always a sad experience and ending. Dealing with death I noticed that these life ending situations were never the same for everyone. This is my first time writing about my experience and sharing with others.

Road Accidents Today:

As a volunteer with the Coroner's Office, I was able to see hundreds of victims to some type of accident. What most people would never want to see nor drive down this type of road. I've seen so many cases where someone was in a car accidents or some other accidental death.

I would recommend any volunteer programs that you can become passionate about. This would make volunteering easy to start and may lead to many full years of service to come. Not all programs are available in certain areas. You can find any volunteer positions in major cities across the USA.

Part-time Jobs:

Volunteer programs are educational, rewarding, plus they develop leadership skills, and helping others reach their goals. All volunteer programs are different but, most serve the same purpose in helping others and their communities. Many of these non-profit organizations hire unemployed workers for full-time or part-time positions.

Christmas Help For Needy Families:

When the holiday season arrives volunteers are in big demand. Some of these positions can lead to employment and some offers other benefits to its volunteers, depending on where you live. A lot of volunteer missions would want you to have available transportation with liability insurance.

You will always have a great experience depending on what your dreams and hobbies are. There are programs for everyone if you love helping people or animals, then I'm sure there's a place for you. I know my experience at the Coroner's Office would be extreme. Most people's that volunteer will work in groups and teams.

Finally, I would recommend for anyone to give if they are able. Find the time to help someone this holiday season. Volunteers are people just like you and me. One thing that makes them different, they get involved. Thank you for reading. Happy Holidays!
