Out of the wide range of choices and options we have for Halloween costumes from the most popular such as Shrek, Toy Story and Alice in Wonderland I have to say my personal favourite types are, the costumes you can get from Tim Burton's Movies.
I am a huge Burton fan (check out my “Top 5 Tim Burton Movies” here at Street Articles) and when you think of his movies, and think of the great characters he has created then you can get the picture of the amount of excellent costume ideas you can get for you or your child, so here I have compiled a list of the best available online for you to enjoy and hopefully be inspired.
No 9 Headless Horseman (Sleepy Hollow)
A creepy movie with Johnny Depp and Christopher Walken as The Headless Horseman, this is a great costume especially for young children and is perfect for the Halloween frighteners.
No8 Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompas (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
These are very fun costumes from another movie with Depp, and you could easily use this Wonka theme as a couples choice for a party. They can fit both adults and children and the Wonka costume is a crazy top hat and tails look, so much fun.
No7 The Nightmare Before Christmas
Burton at his best here, a great movie, and two of my favourite characters, Jack Skellington and Sally the Rag-doll. There are amazing costumes for both of these and again would make a great couples costume Idea. Sally's costume is outstanding, creepy yet gorgeous at the same time and so much fun to wear.
Burton did three Batman movies, a 1989 movie with Michael Keaton, Batman Returns 1992 Michael Keaton again, and Batman Forever with Val Kilmer 1995 so it is only fitting that there are excellent Batman Costumes available for adults and children.
No5 Alice In Wonderland
Tim took this movie on in 2010 and to be honest, I thought it was just ok, but in saying that all you have to do is just think of the amount of crazy characters and also the gorgeous Alice to see what amazing choice you have for a costume whether you are a child or adult (even dog) From Alice, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat, March Hare, White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, yes, costumes for all these characters and they are quite amazing. There are tons of different styles and designs you really are spoiled for choice here.
No4 Emily (Corpse Bride)
Probably my favourite Burton Movie, but most definitely my favourite character, the wonderful Emily voiced by Tim's wife Helena Bonham Carter. What an amazing, loveable yet hilarious character to create and again with Depp voicing Victor made to me a brilliant movie. The only problem here is finding a costume for Victor, but there are some amazing creepy gorgeous costumes for Emily, perfect Halloween stuff.
No3 Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett
From the crazy Musical, Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street this is a great couple choice of costumes, a scary yet cool Victorian costume look, with wild hair, great designs, cut throat razors, very Halloween indeed and great fun.
With Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice making us cry with laughter in this 1988 movie, you can just imagine the costumes available for this character. There are a whole lot of styles and designs for Beetlejuice and can fit both Men and women and will help you look like a nut at any fancy dress party.
No1 Edward Scissorhands
Edward Scissorhands always seems to come number 1 in my lists and for great reasons. One, it is a brilliant movie period. Two, Edward is an amazing character. Three, the costumes available for Edward are out of this world, scary, beautiful, creepy, astonishing, striking I could go on and on but this really is a excellent choice of costume that would stand out at any fancy dress party.
There you have my choice of costumes from the Tim Burton movie Halloween costumes that are available to buy online, I hope I am not leaving out any important characters that have costumes available for them and if I am I would appreciate a comment below letting me know and if you have enjoyed this list or have any comments be sure to leave one below.
