We are really spoiled for choice these days for our fancy dress costumes whether it is for us adults, our children or even our pets, we really have way to much to choose from which is a good thing but with having so much, can be hard to find the right costume for us or be too overwhelming leading us to spontaneously buy something we may not even like.

Because of this I will create a few articles showing the best, the most popular and most talked about costumes doing the rounds now online and hopefully will give people an idea of what is available but also take a little bit of stress from your searching as you may find something you like for you or your child.

I am a huge fancy dress fan (as you can see by my picture of me, dressed as a tree which I made myself and wish I had a full body picture) and just love the effort that some companies put in to creating costumes. So here are 5 excellent costume ideas whether you have a fancy dress party to go to or looking for some Halloween ideas and they both suit children and adults enjoy.

No 5 Centurion and Romans

I know this costume theme is a little common and saturated, but in reality, it is not, and the reason is yearly new movies and TV programmes that come out (think The Eagle, Clash of the Titans. Spartacus etc.) and with these movies come more amazing looking costumes. The choice from this theme is so vast it is exciting. Just think of Gladiators, Soldiers, Centurions, Gods, Goddesses, Caesars, Togas and a very popular choice, Cleopatra all involved in this theme and there are some outstanding costume to be bought here, especially the Roman Soldier costume for little boys, excellent looking.

No 4 Ninjas

Probably one of my personal favorite and one of the coolest themes around. The Ninja is a brilliant costume choice and also one not many ever think of, which is great keeping it unique for you. These costumes are made for Men, Women and children and there is a huge choice is style and designs and throw in there the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too and again you are spoiled for choice.

No 3 Toy Story

These costumes are as popular as ever and with good reason, the choice. For everyone from bunting, children, adults to pets you have a class choice of nearly every character in a lot of different styles, designs and sizes. Think of Woody, Jesse, Buzz Lightyear, Hamm, Alien, Rex, Bo Peep and my personal favorite costume, a class looking Sarge the Green Army-man costume and you can see why the popularity will not go away.

No 2 Shrek

Yep, still one of the most purchased costume ever and still doing the rounds. Again, just think of all the characters and you get the picture of the amount of amazing costumes you can choose from for adults and children (even a cool Shrek costume for dogs ha nuts) Though there are tons of great costumes to choose, the Shrek theme will always be in the top 5.

No 1 Alice In Wonderland

When Tim Burton's movie came out in 2010, a whole load of new costumes for this theme appeared and again just think of the vast amount of crazy characters. There are so many styles of Alice and Queen of Heart costumes for young girls, teens and adult ladies that are just stunning. Throw in there The Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, March Hare, Tweedledee and Tweedledum and you will get the picture of the quality choice you are spoiled for.
